How to keep a black truck clean?

"HD Adapt for correction topped with HD Poxy for shine and protection. Nice deep wet look gloss."

Wow! Looks impressive. I need to check `em out.
(Two new black SUVs in my garage.)

And for those who might be interested with my experience with CG products, I've purchased a fair amount of their products:

Celeste D is still one of my favorite over priced high end waxes LOL and it's what's currently on my Genny.

Disclaimer: I have personally purchased and used all of the products I'm going to comment on.

Butter Wet Wax, at best a 3 on a 1-10 scale. I threw mine out after a year as it dried out and turned colors.

V-7 is a nice detail spray, it's nothing more than that, a detail spray, a sealant, hardly.

Blackfire Wet Diamong Polymer Spray is still my go to as far as a QD.

I love the Polish Angel line up but the sprays are just to much $$$ per ounce in use.

Blacklight, looks awesome after initial application, longevity is a failure in the Florida climate where I live. Lees than 4 weeks in our summer climate.

I have PBL's Sealant, WG 3.0, BFWD, Menz Power Lock and probably another half dozen sealants and at least 30+ nuba waxes. For my money the HD line is the best value for the dollar.

Again, just my opinion.

HD Poxy 16oz $14.99 sign me up!

Poxy just hands down blows Blacklight off of the planet. You get the depth of the Montan Wax and the protectant of the sealant in one product. One step.

I can't say I've had that issue with my butter wet wax. Never had an issue with it. Easy on, easy off.

So what's your take on them? They okay for what you do? It's not like I'm detailing cars for a living, just my own, and chemical guys look appealing to me, I was thinking I was going to order their foam Lanse/cannon some v7 soap, butter wet wax, some v7 detail spray to use as the sealent and if I like it I'll be ordering the 1 gallon containers of those products

You might as well buy the gallon sized containers. If you look at the price per ounce on CG products you will see a huge difference between the 16 oz and the gallon price. Just pick up a few good quality sprayers from AG. The CG 16 oz bottle sprayers are terrible quality and do not hold up.

I don't want to buy the 1 gallon containers Becuase I'm not sure if I'm going to like it; and I still don't know what to buy. I think I wanna try it first before I commit to 1 gallons containers, I'm thinking I'll give the chemical guys a try but not sure what to try

I have a foam gun too. Thought I had to have one. The fun has wore off, but I still get it out from time to time. I do like using it when the car is just dusty and it is a trip to watch the neighbors checking it out lol.

I mainly use Meguiars products. Started out with stuff from Walmart then found out quickly how much cheaper it was to buy it by the gallon from AG. I just use the car wash shampoo in my foam gun and it works well but I think other soaps would be better as mentioned.

In the winter when it is too cold I hit up the touchless wash about every two weeks then come home and wipe it down with Megs quick wax and that gets me through until summer. If it gets to be at least 40 or 45 degrees outside I will get the hose out. Loved the mild winter this year.

Good luck in your quest.

V7 really isn't a sealant, it has no longevity. It's a fine detail spray, as you can see I have a gallon and a half, still do by the way as I use BFWDPS most of the time. I personally will never use Butter Wet Wax again. I tossed mine out. Their are so many better products available than BW Wax. Again Poxy being the best over all value. One CG product you are missing and that is excellent for interiors is Silk Shine. It's my personal favorite interior protectant.

Honey Dew Snow Foam and all the Duragloss Soaps to mention a few are excellent.

I do a lot of black trucks and I say the way to keep it clean is let someone else buy it and get a white one and then admire their black truck and think that while they were spending the whole day getting that look it only took you 1/2 day and you got something else done with the time you saved.

It's a little too late to do that as I already bought it and don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon, I just trying to figure out how to keep it looking good relatively easy and cheapish

He does have a point though. I have my Black garage queen and three white vehicles parked in the drive way. You will most definitely be doing a lot of this :autowash: :buffing:

Good news is nothing looks as good as a black vehicle all cleaned up. More good news is once you have it corrected and perfect, keeping it that way is just a matter of technique. Wash and dry it correctly and avoid any dry dusting or OCD'isms. Keep it coated with a good LSP and you'll really not have to do much else except for the occasional yearly or bi-yearly quick polishing.

Stay away from carnauba waxes on your daily driver. I have yet to find one that is not a dust magnet. Static is just inherent with them. Sealant or coating. If your not comfortable with a coating give Polish Angel a look on Aitopia. They are super user friendly sealants and coatings. It's what I have on my Rogue right now and my wife's Sonata.
