Hey there guys! It's been awhile since I've posted, but I recently acquired a Titanium Alternator Cover made by ARC. I purchased it used, and obviously it has some wear on it, but is still in obviously great condition!

I am curious as to how I can get it looking brand new again, or as close to new as possible...again, it is made of titanium.

Here is a pic...

That thing looks really cool! What is the purpose of having a alternator cover? Is it going on your Z?

Thanks, I'm going to have a look at this!

SICK cover!! ARC is top notch stuff!!
Thanks Prelude, I purchased it used from a '07 STi, but it'll fit my '13 STi. It's a shame that they went out of business; they are back but aren't making anywhere near as much products as they did before...such a shame :(

try some metal polish and a microfiber towel
Kk, thanks bamboo!

Lol, thanks Avalon! To be honest, it is mostly there just for "JDM Bling"...there is a stock one on my car right now, but this is just a replacement, although, with the vents, it may direct the heat elsewhere...again, mostly just to replace the plastic stock one for some shiny stuff under the hood :P And I've really been meaning to change my Signature, I was supposed to get the Z originally, but I went with the STi instead :P

"Clean and shiny" titanium is going to oxidize rather quickly---under hood heat will tend to accelerate this process.

Do you plan on having this piece CC'd after you've polished it?
Have you considered having it "chromed"?

Bob

I wasn't planning on having it CC'd after being polished. Never even considered that option to be honest. Will having it CC'd ruin the finish on it?
