How to properly clean pads?

I will always put my dirty pads and towels in a 5 gallon bucket filled with a mixture of water, degreaser and a small amount of microfiber wash and let them soak for anywhere from 30min to a few hours. Leave the grit guard on the bottom when you take everything out ad youll be surprised at the stuff on the bottom!

Isn't it bad to spin dry them on the DA because it should always be on a surface before turned on? I thought I recall reading somewhere it's bad for the motor or something.

The pad will go flying off, hit the ground and be dirty again...

It's due to the out of rand nature of an orbital pattern. It's not a problem when using a rotary buffer.

In this video with Bryan Fuller I show slinging water out via inertia by spinning the pad on a DA Polisher but I'm also keeping the pad inside the Splash Guard Lid so it can't go shooting off and onto the floor.
