I have searched for some suggestions & information on how to properly do a 50/50 wipe down with no luck. I have a NBP acura and it's just been freshly clayed, compounded, & polished and I'm a little hesitant to just go right at it with a micro fiber and the 50/50 mixture. Is there a particular good way to do this without marring or introducing new scratches into the paint?

Use a plush MF and as light pressure. You can also use an APC. DP Cleanse All is the best to me.

Just what your dilution. I would definitely go lower the 50% IPA. So if you have a bottle of 80% and add half water your at 40% now. IPA softens paint, espeacially with japenese paint. Those tend to be on the softer side of paints.

Jim, this is one product that flies under the radar. It's fairly expensive, but does a great job as an exterior cleanser! My favorite.
It is truly a hidden gem! IME works better than P21S TAW or OPC on exteriors. Im glad you share this opinion, Mark!

thinking about trying this , do you dilute it or just use it full strength when you use it for a wipe down?

I dont think it is recommended for dilution.. That is painful but I use mine only on eexterior paint.

Can you use a waterless wash product instead of an APC for this type of wipe down?

Depends on how good your eyes are, the color of paint you're working on and how you inspect.

I do all product testing on black paint. Black paint shows everything.

I posted about this topic here,

Now you can see some light marring, but that's because IPA isn't a very good lubricant, in fact it's a horrible lubricant. I think of all the people that have been told by others to wipe their car down with IPA before going to the next step and it's pretty easy to understand that when they did this they likely marred their car's paint and this is called working backwards. It's also likely that if the people taking this advice were working on light to medium colored cars they never saw the marring.

One option is to CAREFULLY wash a car using a car wash soap, if you want, use a detergent soap but you have to wash the care carefully, you cannot SCRUB the paint.

I wrote an article on how to mix it and use it, truckbutt shared the link but here it is as a blue clickable link from my article list...
