Sorry if this is a stupid one but I feel like googling isn't clearly giving me an answer.

I coated my wheels with DLUX and maintain it with Elixir at each wash. After 1 year or whenever it's not as strong, do I just quickly polish by hand and it's ready to re-apply? For example I can use my tub of turtle wax polishing compound and go over all the area with a microfiber? Or do I need a machine polish?

To be clear I'll clay bar and decontaminate before as well. But I seem to have read an answer where someone just used claybar and re-applied the coating.

WASH:
Decontamination: Iron remover and clay.
POLISH: Light polish/compound. (I use Essence.) Hand is fine
Panel wipe:
Coat:

Polish and re-apply regardless if it is by hand or machine if you want a fresh start. Have you tried a chemical decon to see if all that elixir is masking it.

Ok thanks guys wasn't sure. Since you mentionned Essence looked it up and it looks to prosy a lot. Is it that worth it? Might get some for next time and before doing my car.

Guz I don't have issues with it just wondering for the future. It definitely beads up nice when I first tested, I just always have Elixir on hand I love the gloss and slickness it gives and how you feel it drying the car. Also since I'm doing Cquartz on my car soon was really curious if people polished their car every 2-3 years but I guess so.

It's up there on the list for your application purposes. More so on your paint then wheels. But since your doing both then it's fine.
