How to remove dust on a daily driven car

To be honest....it is a defeating situation. I have a Black Car and I can watch dust accumulate the moment I am finished detailing my car. Is it a lot of dust....no a simple breath blow will move it.....but I am talking in less than 2 minutes.

I have a micro fiber duster and the California Duster. Both are excellent minor dust removers IF USED CORRECTLY. However, I no longer use them. They to me are just paper weights.

I would just live with it and do a typical wash when you deem fit.

IMO the more times you try to remove dust or dirt from your vehicle and I do not care if you have the best technique....the more chances you will scratch your ride.

I say live with the dust accumulation and enjoy your ride until its ready to be detailed.

...with the fact it has PBL Diamond Coating which actually "helps" keep the dust and debris at bay.

I envy those that don't have to deal with 5' of snow per year and "Nor Easters".

Yeah.... gotta' say... FIVE FEET of snow?!?!

You'd 'envy' me FO' SHO'! ;)

I've not seen 5' of snow in all my 58+ years here in Atlanta! :D

What you described with the Korean towels is how I sometimes remove excessive compound dust.

Nothing wrong with that Conner, nothing at all.:xyxthumbs:

What I DON'T like :xyxthumbs:to do is WIPE a surface that has dust on it by putting the weight of my hand on the back of a towel. The lighter I can touch it, the better off we all are. :)

The Korean edgeless will slide and flip around so well on slick newly polished and/or well maintained paint (especially with a coating) that they are natural.

Heck, for that matter the 600 and 700 GSM towels work for dusting, just that they are heavier. Come to think of it... what DO they work well for?

Just realized the photo didn't come through on the last post.

This is the type duster I'm talking about. You can easily tell that it's a LOT lighter than the paraffin loaded, rough threaded, fairly heavy California Car Duster. Plus, being round, it's easy to just let a portion of it touch the paint while turning it while you're going across a panel. :dblthumb2:
