A client came to me today showing me her lower door panel with glue type residue after he removed a sticker which stayed for several years. I tried tar remover but it didn't works so I spent more then half an hour removing it by my fingernail.
I would like to know if there is a faster way to remove the residue? I've heard of IPA but haven't give it a try.

I have used both WD-40, and zippo lighter fluid in the past with good results.

+1 goof off. I used this to remove tinting glue where other things like eucalyptus oil struggled.

Fan of Dodo juice supernatural glut and tar remover. Not used to side by side with goof off but reckon goof off would be more effective

I had a can of Dunlop glue spilled onto my car's fabric seat before. I used petrol to cleaned it all up nicely.

I tried Goo Gone, and have had next to zero luck with it- I think its the smell that keeps me coming back.

I've used WD-40 with good results, I'll need to try Goof Off some time.
