How to revive microfiber drying towels?

Polish removal and coating leveling primarily. Kinda my fav all around towel for the last couple years. Actually works well for many things.

Would you say as good as the 365 miner?

Also have you ever tried the 245gsm? I used them for coating removal and they seemed to work fine. Cost me about 55 cents from TrC so i don’t mind tossing them. If you used how do the compare for coating/sealant removal ?

Thanks

So over night soaked a bunch of towels in griots MF. This batch was mainly final buff towels. No coating removal. Water a little dingy but no brownish goldish color.

Soaked that hydrophobic miner and another 245gsm i used for coating removal in pure and got that same goldish brownish color.... even more of it. Maybe that is the color you get breaking down ceramic coatings?

I believe the 365 miner is the same as the regular 365. Just different colors. I have only ever used the blue 365’s so take that FWIW.
I have used the 245 but feel they are a little thin to be used for coating removal. They work but I prefer the 300. Kind of the sweet spot for me.
Now what I love for coating removal are the terry MF from CarPro. That towel is incredible!!!

Yeah the miners are just grey i think. Last ask.... if you ever try the 2face lites give a review. I wanna try them but don’t need 40!

I’ve used the “regular” 2 face and they are nice. But I prefer there terry weave. Will have to look at these lite towels.

One last thing. Threw a saver applicator i use exclusively for Cosmic and OC in the R2R soak. It always looked clean but hasn’t felt this “fluffy/soft” since new.

I’ve got a bottle of towel kleen, mckees, and another griots to use up. Once done in 5 years i’ll be using this exclusive

Sooo.......... Update.

What do you think happened? Hmm...

I soaked a large Big Blue Towel, OG Large PFM, and 4 small PFM’s in a 5 gallon bucket 🪣 w/2oz. of R2R for 1.5 days maybe longer because I just didn’t get around to doing the laundry for a bit.

Wringed out the towels a bit and washed them along with the rest of my drying towels in hot water + 2oz. precisely measured R2R soap. I think I read somewhere that Coatingsrcrack said this soap is the thickest soap he’s ever seen? I couldn’t disagree more. This is the thinnest washing detergent I’ve ever seen in my life. It could almost pass for some blue Gatorade in that gallon bottle, that’s seriously how thin it is. Just a notch above water consistency. And by the time all my drying towels went in the washer it had knocked down just about all the suds the 2oz. produced. That initially raised some doubts.

Towels came out of the dryer smelling like the soap, which isn’t particularly a pleasant scent, but who really goes around smelling their towels, right? Towels weren’t any softer than normal, if anything they felt a bit stiffer than they normally do. Looking back that may be a good sign in the same way that paint can feel a bit tacky when it’s completely bare, which would be a good sign compared to any sort of residue or softeners.

Bucket wash w/Megs Hyper Wash. rinse, sheet, go inside and grab the Big Blue Towel and I’m not gonna lie, I was prepared for a let down.
I plop the dry towel on the roof of my Cadillac and grab it from each end and just drag the heavy towel along the roof and what’s the result?

Initial result indicated, fail. Here’s the roof panel after dragging that rather heavy drying towel across once, this is after it did the same across the passenger side of the roof.

So at this time I figured it was just my typical bad luck and it wasn’t going to work for me, but as I kept going around the car it did manage to catch up and by the end behave as it should drying to a complete streak free, bone dry vehicle. So is it just a characteristic of the towel needing to have some initial moisture to perform at its best? Or did the soap fail to revive the towel back to form?

I’d say if anyones to blame its the towel not the soap, because it did manage to quickly dry as intended which it didn’t used to be able to do. Seems like it just needed that little bit of dampness and then it was drying everything in its path.

Initial results of the R2R soap: Excellent.

I’m gonna need a lot more favorable reviews before I buy another P&S product. Brake buster is just ok. Bead maker is crap. So I’m skeptical of their entire line now.

The initial wave of bogus YT influencers/reviews should’ve told you Brake Buster was more hype than substance..

As far as Beadmaker, I still use it on my own vehicle, and it’s pretty rare for a newer product to make it onto my personal vehicle. It’s just too smooth, it shines nice, and I haven’t noticed any extraordinary dust accumulation after using it. If there’s definitive 50/50 testing that proves otherwise, I’d love to see that thread or link to the video?
