Ok guys.

Ihaveacamaro : has been very cool about offering to send me a sample of wax I am really wanting to try.

Thing is not sure the best way to send a sample of wax

so thought I'd ask the forum what's the best way to ship a sample of wax?

What type of container / packaging??

Thanks for all your input

:dblthumb2:

1) Air tight container (do not overfill to allow flexing and expansion... if any!?)
2) Bubble wrap (if you have some handy)
3) Heavy cardboard box (or self fabricated box from shipping boxes you receive from AG). This is for those ever so gentle delivery people!
4) Ship in cool months (to be safe)

I would say that if you are able to steal a girlfriend, mom, etc... glass makeup jar that you can properly sanitize, you would be in business with minimal to no expense.

Glass would be the easiest to come by and easiest to clean (dip the sucker in some IPA, carpro eraser or similar). You could always put a piece of wax paper on top of the wax, so not to cross contaminate with anything that would be left on the lid (since the lids are generally plastic, may be porous and may still have some residue).

.... or if there is no female loved ones, search for it on your favorite auction site! (3x 1oz jars ~$10 shipped.... I'll take some wax :))

Thanks for all the great suggestions

looks like Roshan found something that works great!

How do you guys send a sample ? Do you melt it down ?

Anyone got a link to a container that would work?
I personally like to receive "samples" of car-care products...
(including waxes...even an extra jar filled with a potent-potable, as a bonus :D)...
...from my: AGO-Forum-Friends...in the below type of container.
I'm quite sure you, Jrocket, would be similarly pleased!

What sayeth thee Roshan?

Im the MAN

LOL!!!! A quart masson jar of ANYTHING would be awesome to get, let alone wax! I was being conservative with the 1oz, trial cosmetic bottle....maybe a little too conservative :nomore: :props:

Don't melt it down, use a warmish spoon and scoop out your sample.

Instructions from someplace else:

Gently scoop the wax out of the original pot using a teaspoon so as not to disturb the surface too much

Once you have enough in the other pot, firmly push it down to get rid of any air pockets. The wax will soften making it easier.

Once full, smooth the surface with your thumb, the warmth should help to melt the top allowing a tidy finish.

Allow it to cool back to a solid consistency - I usually put it in the garage.

Once firm, repeat the smoothing process if necessary.
