How to spot defects in candy apple Chevy red?

Sun seems to be the only way to see any defects in my clients red Chevy Cruze. My lights that I normally use on my nighthawk black pearl Acura always pick up defects very easily and allow me to see any and all swirls and defects. Is this just how it is with this color paint or is the paint just not that defected?

I think candy type colors make it hard to see defects. I have trouble seeing defects in my car without the sun.

When I'm done with a car I pull it out in the sun to double check for spots I might have missed.
