I assumed it was facing down as well. I'm surprised the fan doesn't blow them away.
That's pretty cool idea. Not sure if I might be a bit worried about dust getting blown into the pads
I haven't had a problem with dust. I do have to add some weight to the smaller pads (small blocks of wood work great), but the 6.5" pads stay in place just fine with the fan on low.
