How to towel dry a car?

I like to use my air compressor to blow water out of the tiny crevices before I use a towel. I started doing this because I'd go drive my car and I'd end up with water spray after I hit 10 mph :-(

I visited the link that Nick demonstrated the drying towel on. Fantastic towel that I believe I'll be purchasing soon.

I used to get the same thing when I drive like 30 mph and it used to come from the wiper blades so I blast them with my leaf blower and wipe them down as well.

On my black non-metallic car a waffle such as cobra guzzler does leave marring no matter how gentle I was with it. So far I get good results with the cobra purple towel (600) and detailer. I usually use Meguiar's Final inspection or Pinnacle Crystal Mist.

Bobby is dead on with the leaf blower..but I do it a little different. First, blow it with a leaf blower and then with the biggest waffle towel you have (I usually use two) just lay them "flat" on the roof, then hood, then deck..etc without rubbing them. This way it just blots any remaining moisture without scratching.

I purchased a leaf blower at Home Depot for about 50 bucks. (a Toro) You can get them cheaper than that both there and at other home improvement stores. For me it serves the purpose. I have a daily driver that I try to keep reasonably nice and it blows the water off my car after I wash it.

I usually use my Cobra Waffle Weave (Green) towel to get up most of the water then follow up with my Cobra Waffle Weave (Gold). This gets the paint 99% dry with minimal amount of time of towel touching surface. I want the Metro Master Blaster but don't have the money for it right now.
