How to use Foam gun

Just got my Foam Gun and decided to go with it instead of the Foam Cannon. I returned my pressure washer and Cannon because I want simplicity for this step.

The directions that came with it suck and I dond understand how to use it. There is a dial on the top that turns and closes. I am not sure what that does. I understand the sliding bar adjusts the mixture and if I turn it down it just shoots water.

I guess I just dont understand what the top dial is for. My guess is it regulates suction so that the system doesnt become pressurized.
 
What type of foam gun do you have?

The ones here only have the sliding bar.

I just close all the brass twist dials all the way, and make sure that I don't lose them - never noticed any issues doing that.

I've been using mine for about a month or so now and I've just been experimenting with different shampoo ratios, placement of the brass bar etc. The instructions aren't very clear :(

Gotta subscribe here . I have a fm2 gun and mtm cannon looking for some guidance also . I'd say my biggest fear is using to much soap and degrading my lsp completely or mostly .

This is the one I bought.

I didnt realize too much soap would degrade the LSP but I feel better using the same product line for my car soap and LSP.

I still dont understand what the dial is for on the top. I get what the slider bar does in terms of adjusting mixture of foam.
 
That's not a twist dial on the top, it's a cleanout plug and it has to be tight otherwise the gun won't work. The numbers you see adjacent to the "twist dial" are the part number of the gun stamped into the metal, not "dial markings".
