Hello all

I have a Golf TSI MK7 and it is very different from my last car. The inside portion of the rear wheel fender has an insulation material (which I don't know what is), but I'm sure it's not plastic hehe... It seems to be some kind of soft material, and I was worried about damaging it washing with my pressure washer with full pressure. Does anyone knows if this can be done or not? I'd hate to damage this insulation material haha

Thanks folks!

I use a brush on mine after getting it good and soapy first.

I just use a good apc or degreaser and a softer bristle brush and a strong water stream cleans very well.

This material is headache to clean but good function in reducing noise. I use pressure wash and it really absorb all junk including apc or soap, make sure to rinse throughly.

Spray with APC. I really, really like LA's Totally Awesome for this material.
Again, spray with APC and let it dwell for a bit (~15 seconds) and then agitate with a brush. Afterwards, power wash.
Repeat as you deem necessary.

Hi sir, mind share what brush you using? Thanks

Thanks guys! And sorry for the poor title, I don't know why I haven't noticed it before posting.

I've used the Mother's wheel brush. The wheel well brush looks identical except with a longer handle but I've never used it.
Or I use a long handled wheel well brush from Carrand I bought in an auto parts store (O'Reilly's I believe).

Nothing too stiff, though I believe the material can hand something like the Tuff-Shine tire brush.

I've found that while most of the debris can be removed while washing (using the methods everyone mentioned above), many times I'm left with what looks like grass particles stuck in the wheel liner fabric. This leftover dirt seems to be removed easiest after the liner material dries. Brushing over it, even holding your vacuum nozzle beside the brush while brushing, will remove most of what's left.

I spray APC (Optimum Power Clean or P21S Total Auto Wash), let dwell for couple minutes then agitate with Adam's fender brush and pressure wash. Repeat as necessary. Audi and others use same material to deaden sound.
