Aloha!

So I purchased the steamer posted below. I look forward to using it in my interior details. But can I use it for exterior use as well? Cleaning emblems, tires and wheel wells, wheels, jambs and seals, engine, etc.

Mahalo (Thank you in Hawaiian) in advance for your responses!

You got it! Works great on engine bays, door jams, removing ppf. List goes on and on. Just make sure to use DI water.

Acronyms

PPF - Paint Protection Film
DI Water - Deionized Water

How do you like that steam cleaner? How does the carpets & upholstery/cloth seats come out? Looks small and versatile.

Haven't used it yet. Gonna use it for a detail this Friday. Cadillac Escalade coming in for a leather reconditioning conditioning.

Steamers are very useful and versatile. Some times they can clean things nothing else can.

I think ever detailer should own one.

With that being said, I use mine as little as possible. Working with steam is very annoying in an enclosed space like a car interior. It's always my last resort for clean something. On the outside, no such problems but I usually go for other solutions anyway.

I hardly ever use my steamer, I wish I spent that $900 differently.

Just a tip on that particular steamer model, make sure you don't overfill it, otherwise you end up with a water jet instead of a steamer...

I'm thinking of picking that steamer up to. Would be great to get some feedback otherwise I'll end up getting a dupray or something.

Isn't a steamer better then using chemicals all the time? I use to think steamers cut time but after watching videos it looks like a long process.

Steamers are awesome tools. You can use them for practically anything. Wish they could steam laulau's, lol. What island are you on bro?

I have that same steamer. I got it from harbor freight. I would make sure it's OK before you use it on the detail. I had to buy 3 before I found one that would get hot enough. That particular model is good. I have never had any trouble on leather but do be careful on interior chrome and some wood grain like material. It will shrivel fake chrome on interiors very quickly. I hardly useone anymore because I feel that particular unit is not quite strong enough for most needs like cleaning a wheel well and it would take much longer to clean tires and wheels with it but if you are not concerned about time then you can acomplish it. I hope it works out for you let us know how you like it. But check to make sure it gets hot. I mean where you can't hold your hand by the steam hot for more than a second. Give it time the more yu use it and let it heat up the hotter it should get.

Awesome steamer for the money, I use it all over the interior. Just make sure you give it time to heat up and get the first couple of squirts of water out before you put it to work. I always think of upgrading but this steamer has took care of everything I've thrown at it.

Lol at steaming laulau! I love the pork fat. I'm on Oahu, Waipahu.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check on how hot it gets. When I first used it, it did feel like it wasn't as strong as I thought it would be.
