So today I think I'm going to sign the lease for a new shop! I am getting a 2 bay shop and I'm thinking about doing a grand opening. I figured I would give away free drinks and hot dogs along with coupons and gift certificates....Well I wont be able to give many gift certificates away if no one is there lol I know a few people at a big classic rock radio station so I think I am going to see if I can get them out there that day. What are some other ways I would be able to get people out there?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!:dblthumb2:

The radio remote is a great idea. Free food always brings out people...me included. Throw in some bikini wearing flat bellies and you have a winning day.

Hey man, good luck to you!

I'll be opening up a shop myself within the next year or so, as soon as I find a place similar to what you've found.

Free food seems to draw a lot of people. Just need to put out some flyers or advertise some how so people know about it. The radio would be a great way to do it

The free food is the ticket IMO and as far as the women with flat stomachs, well that's always nice but you don't wanna "skank out" too much, kinda like places that spell things wrong to look cool like Ridez for instance. With that said, stick with one woman with a large rack that can be seen but not too over the top, don't wanna upset the other 50% of your customers out there......women!

Good luck to you!

chicks maaaan. definitely some girls

maybe one of those dunk tanks?

and the usual craigslist ad, flyers at local places

loud music seems to draw a crowd sometimes. Know any aspiring dj's looking for a detail?

BTW - CONGRATS!

Don't forget the bikes. Drop by your local hardly shop and put up a flyer also demo products throughout the day on potential customers cars. That's if your also going to sell product

See if you can get your local girl and/or boy scout troop to have a car wash fundraiser as part of your grand opening. That, and a hot dog stand will do wonders.

Live radio broadcasts are very expensive. They do draw a huge crowd. My friend opened a bike shop a few years ago and he paid a few grand for the radio remote.

It was very cool the Mountain Dew hummer showed up and asked if they could hang out for the afternoon and give away free ice cold dew. They were looking for someplace to promote the soda where there would be a lot of 18-39 yr old males. They came to the right spot.

The radio station then started telling everyone the Mountian Dew hummer was on site and it was jammed.

My friend was worried that the radio remote was going to be a waste of money but after seeing several thousand people flow through store and parking lot he was more than satisfied. Everyone who was anyone new his shop had come to town.

I could spend the money on radio or I can spend the money on internet advertising...The internet advertising would prob reach more people...

The internet would reach people who are more targeted. On the internet when someone searches terms such as auto detailing you can advertise directly towards them. The radio remote goes out to everyone in a certain geographic area.

You would just need to decide what works best for your business.
