My name is Chris, born and raised in Dallas, Texas moved with my family to Nashville, TN a decade ago. I only detail as a hobby although I would not mind getting paid, I've been washing cars since I was 10 where I'd take the dirty bucket water and dump it back on the car for a second wash "yikes," haha, but I have only been serious into detail until I worked at a Mannheim Auto Auction as a summer job several years ago. I'm excited to be a part of a detailing forum as I can tell there are very knowledgable people on here after researching which DA to buy.

Hi Chris,

:welcome: To Autogeek Online!

You'll find a lot of friendly people here and the advise and recommendations will soon follow.

There are quite a few quality dual action polishers available and everyone has their own preference. If you look there are two styles to choose from; the Porter Cable style and the Flex 3401.

Instead of going into chapter and verse on which ones I prefer, here's a link for you to browse, Car Buffers, Car Polishers, Rotary Polishers, polishing foam pads, buffing pads, wool pad, Porter Cable 7424, Makita, DeWalt, Cyclo buffer, bonnet,

I've never been one for kits although the ones here are pretty good! I prefer to put my own package together.

Here's some great information that will help you if you need it.

Welcome.

I love Nashville. Looking to go back for a weekend sometime soon.

Welcome to the forum! Ha...i've done the same thing with the dirty water when I was a kid. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Boy...if I knew then...what I know now.

Welcome to the forum!

I could write a book with the things my brother and I did to and tried on Dads car while growing up. Good times nonetheless!

:xyxthumbs:

Welcome! As you can see, you're not the only one who did things that were not the best when inexperienced. I did plenty of it. The important thing is to learn from the experience.

Thanks Everyone!

Welcome aboard!

Uh Oh, I'm a Dallas Stars fan! haha

Hey thanks! I actually just ordered a GG6 on Monday and it is out for delivery! It was between the XP and the GG6, it really came down to the lifetime warranty. I bought the GG6 and Pad kit that comes with 5 CSS pads and then I bought the small bottles of M105/205 to test out on an old car I have. I appreciate all the helpful info on how to use the polisher.

Welcome to AGO! Your going to learn a lot more here. Their is a lot of knowledge that floats around these forums.

Funny thing about the washing cars when you were younger, your not the only one.

Haha if I have a child one day we are going to have "the talk" before they wash it. Well, when a person and a car love each other very much...

Hi Chris...:welcome: to AGO!

Always liked the "Warehouse District" in Nashville.

:)
