How's my beading

First time with the HF DA, switched out to the Country Lake (i think) 5" pad.

I had just washed the car recently, so I just Nano speedy prepped the hood with meguiars qd, and did 1 coat of CG BlackLight with a White CG Hex pad, and 1 coat of Butter Wet Wax with a Black CG hex pad.

About 5mins after i finished the hood, it started raining haha...

I don't see any beading... But it sheets like a mofo! Looks like it's totally dry!!

Oh wait, second and third pic...
 
Beading doesn't look very good in the first pic. Second and third pic look pretty good to me.
 
I just did my roof in WGDGPS3 and it is definitely tighter than this.

Looks good though.

This was actually the input i was looking for.

Im thinking the Butter Wet Wax from Chemical Guys just isnt cutting it. I really like the slickness that the blacklight gives, but have not been happy with the butter wet wax.

As that colonite wax get so much hype on this forum, I think I might try that next.

As ive mentioned before here are my steps:

Wash with Turtle wax rinseless
Clay with speedy prep towel
(Polish with nano 3n, but not everytime as my paint does not have swirls or marring)
Blacklight applied with white pad
Butter Wet Wax applied with Blackpad...

I have the Black Fire Wet diamond paint protection coming today, but im not sure how to "strip" everything off as I dont think I should apply to a recently waxed car...
 
Thanks for posting pictures of the beads that resulted from rain falling upon your recently LSP'ed vehicle.
I also found it interesting how you inferred Butter Wax's role in the beads "sizing".

Not a knock at you because I don't think you could have messed up the wax application but those beads don't look that great. Couple weeks old illusion for me has very tight uniform beads. It's probably the wax honestly

Thanks for following up and combining the threads!

I had recently washed and clayed the car after a drive up fromt miami.

Yesterday I got my Lake County backing plate and wanted to try it out. So i clayed the hood of the Land Rover and wiped off the the QD residue with a MF towel.

1st step was to apply the CG blacklight.
HF DA w/ CG White hex pad set the speed to ~4 and primed the pad with 4 dots and rubbed it over the hood with the machine off. Then did a few up and down passes and side to side passed with the HF DA on half the hood. Repeated on the other half. I let it sit while i washed the pad with CG pad cleaner (~10mins). Buffed off.

2nd step was to apply the CG Butter wet wax.
HF DA w/ CG Black Hex pad set to speed to ~4 and primed the pad the same way. Basically did the samething, but buffed off the wax after i finished the hood.

By the time i finished cleaning and putting stuff away it had drizzled.

It wasnt a hard rain, so maybe that is why the beads are tiny? Just a 15min shower?

I am still not all that impressed with CG Butter Wet Wax though =(

-So it was a changeover from the HF DA's backing plate to the LC's backing plate.
-Sorry I didn't catch that in your OP.
-I must remember this for future reference.
