Howdy folks, haven't posted in awhile. Last I did, I asked about the best products to protect my new Civic for the winter. I ended up (as recommended) going with the Wolfgang paint sealant and topped it with Collinite 845, and I was very happy with it (and got compliments even in the dead of winter).
Now with summer starting, i've pooled some money for a splurge, including finally getting a PC :awesome: <-----rofl that's awesome
My car is starting to show wear and I have swirls. I'm meticulous about my washing, but I guess it comes with the territory. I would say they're light to medium so i'm going to go with:
XMT Porter Cable Swirl Remover Kit
DP High Perf. Glass Restorer (glass doesn't have the shine it used to)
Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay Plus
Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax
So I was going to wash the car, clay bar it, hit it with the XMT, then a coat of the Wolfgang sealant and then top it with a coat of Souveran. I'm hoping for a deep, glossy shine as this color of paint responds very well to it. How does this sound? Anything else I should pick up while i'm at it? I have the full compliment of cobra towels and stuff.
Maybe another question, I made an error the last time I clayed (my first time). I used the Mother's kit with the supplied lubricant (detailing spray). However, I never wiped each little section off, I just moved on and then washed it again at the end. Since it was winter, I had to do this at work in the parkade and the light wasn't fanastic, so I ended up waxing over the residue which didn't come off with the wash, as I could see it the next day in the sunlight. Kind of a zebra effect, although faint. Will the process above fix this? I'm assuming the clay will take all the old wax/sealant and hopefully this residue off (lesson learned, that's for sure).
Coments/suggestions certainly welcome. Thanks!
