On the description for the LC Hydro-Tech pads it says that the pad prolongs the working time of water-based products. Do they really mean liquid products? Or would I have to read the descriptions of my polishes to see if they are water or solvent based?

Thanks,
Drew

IMO, HT pads prevent over-absorption, which is common seen on flat pads. It doesnt matter your products are what-based, with HT pads, there are more chemicals actually working on your paint instead of hiding somewhere in your pads.

Best way to explain it

Would the Hydrotechs be a good match for Optimum Hyper Compound and Hyper Polish? I plan to try this combination in the next week. Thanks.

And the H2O pads wear quickly

Guess it comes down to picking your poison. Longer lasting, more absorbing flat versus shorter lasting less absorbing HT.

Great taste...or Less filling!

I don't think about the water based thing anymore. They work great for every polish I've used.

In regards to their life the cyan don't last long but the tangerine and crimson last me plenty.

I tried the crimson pad out last weekend and it was more difficult to clean. It worked nicely but like the 6.5-in over the 5.5-in on the Flex. It took a little adjustment on amount of polish to add after using traditional foam.

Yes. Have you considered the MF pads? The compound sounds like the perfect candidate for a MF cutting pad.

:iagree:

I use the 5.5 inch hydro's with a Flex rotary and 3M backing plate. It's a winning combination. :props:

Al, excellent point about cleaning them! That is the one thing I hate about them!! But I love the way they cut and finish so much Im happy to live with the extended cleaning time.
