Hydrotech versus CCS

I have been using the CCS pads which seem ok for the most part but I have had problems with the velcro coming off. I recently got some Hydrotech pads to see if I like them any better. I first noticed they seem much firmer that the comparative CCS pad. The concern is they may be more prone to cause damage since they are so firm BUT the velcro seems be holding up better. If anyone has any advice which pad to use in the future I'd appreciate it.
 
I personally like the Hydro pads more than CCS, but still quite partial to the flat pads. IMO it really comes down to personal preference and will pad technology continuing rapidly we likely will have many more in the coming year. Surbuf and Megs new Microfiber pads hint at this ...
 
They shouldn't be more prone to damage. They are a different foam technology, closed vs. open cell, which is why I think they seem firmer. I like them very much. You may also want to try LC flat pads. They are also very good.
 
When I first got into detailing I used the ccs pads only. Then I switched over to the uber pads from detailers domain made by buff and shine. I still use those pads for cutting and multiple step polishes but I've since changed to the hydrotec pads for one step jobs. You really can't beat the cut and the ability to finish down of the hydrotech pads when you can only do one step correction.

You need to differentiate between the CCS and CCS Smart pads there is a difference with the Smart pads being better.
