Hype and more HYPE! Every new coating gets press and then more press now it's Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light!

I put Wolfgang SCC on in the spring. I've been using McKees SIO2 soap. Last wash was in October and last week it was still beading. Good enough for me.

Ceramic Coatings ruined the car detailing industry imo. Paint protection film didn't help either.
It'll only get worse from here...

Just my opinion but i'm not a fan of Chicago Auto Pro's. Most of his stuff is very contrived. He might be successful but he's not my cup of tea. I stopped watching him probably a year ago now.

I wouldn't watch any of those retards if I was you. Best way to learn is to make mistakes

I am just going through what you all did a few years ago since I just dove in head first back into it after a looooonnnng hiatus. So I’m reliving what everyone went through and it pisses me off now! I can imagine what it was like then if your saying it has settled down now for the most part.

After seeing all of your posts about new products I bet you have enough "stuff" to last 10 years

Why do you say that?

There's nothing left to do but wash the car. From a consumers stand point that's good (I guess). From a business stand point coatings/ppf are good (I guess) because they're very profitable.

I still don't like either but it's probably because I am old and despise laziness

For me nothing looks better than a freshly polished & waxed vehicle

I agree but on the flip side I think it has got a whole hell of a lot more people doing it there selves.... for as big as the coating business has got so has the amount of companies putting out polishing equipment

You must be old too.
If I had to guess big companies like Meguairs, Mothers etc are taking a beating. I would also imagine detailing supply houses are too.
I'm glad that I'm getting towards the end of this journey. Even the new breed of customers get on my nerves. I can tell which ones have been watching YouTube within 60 seconds

As I’ve aged I’ve been able to embrace & and revel in my car care laziness Simply love the ease of maintenance and protection afforded by coatings/PPF. Perfect?…certainly not, everything has its limitations.

Indeed, for some circumstances the ‘old ways’ have an appeal but daily driven cars…too much work for my preferences. As with anything, YMMV.

I'm not sure most guy even wash their cars much anymore. Spray waxes are probably the norm for the average guys now. Those who ceramic coat at home are probably in the 5-7% range.

Honestly, I don’t even remember the last time I saw ANYBODY outside washing their car on the driveway. Everywhere I look now there are million dollar tunnel washes being built with $20/mo unlimited subscriptions and the sheep line up.
