I am a Weirdo

I've been getting up at 5am for school and when I put my car in reverse, just the jolt to the car makes all the condensation on the roof roll down the wind shield :)

My who family thinks I'm NUTS! I get excited to detail cars.

After I clay and wax I run my hand lightly over the surface, I LOVE to feel how smooth it is. The first time my girl friend saw me do this she was like "did you just pet your car?" LOL

Another time I'm just starring at my car and my girlfriend was like "what are you doing?" I said "I'm checking out this girl in the reflection of my car" LOL she just said "Oh lord". We have a good relationship.
 
I had the weirdo conversation with a young lady a few weeks ago.
We were standing next to her Toyota truck and I mentioned that it could use a quick detail and another layer of Fuzion.

Then the conversation got around to how much time my friends and I spent "fussing" (her word) with our cars. And if she thought we were being weirdos about them.

"Nope" she said, "you guys are all certifiable"
 
I had a guy at work the other day tell me "You say the weirdest stuff" with a crooked look on his face because as he was complaining about the job I told him, "Whatever you do, never fart in the shower" It got him to shut up which is what I was attempting to do.

Hey Flash, I could probably eat that cheese burger. Is that you getting ready to take a bite out of that mammoth burger?
 
Weird next to this group?maybe somewhat.
I actually like it when my truck is dirty and the rain captures the dirt inside the water bead and then rolls off.
 
^^^ There has been times where my truck was all mudy from hunting... parked it in the driveway and the rain came over night... Funny how the driveway was all mudy and my truck looked clean!

but i do get a kick out of watching the beads roll off the hood when i stop at the end of the housing project.
 
Flash: Is that a trick question? Of course you are weird, not that there is anything wrong with that :laughing:.

I do not seek out storms because I'm terrified of hail and the inevitable junk on the roads that gets carried onto them by the rain.

Howver, when I'm caught in rain I really enjoy watching the water roll off of the hood as I'm driving. It's like a cheap version of a wind tunnel :).

I've been caught "petting" my car too . . . get that look from the wife that says "maybe you should be paying that much attention me mister!"

BTW, just found out I get the day off tomorrow :xyxthumbs:. So, unplaned 3 day weeekend + 65 degree weather = first thought to cross my mind "perfect chance to get another layer of Fuzion on the truck before it rains on Saturday!" So glad to know I'm not alone!
 
Another reason why I read this forum, I can now assure myself that I am not crazy for watching water bead off my car when it rains, or paying attention to the reflection of road signs on the car hood when driving.

My friends I'm afraid we have all been diagnosed with a very serious disease…….Detailers syndrome.
