I am about to give up!

im having a tough time as well, so i sort of gave up temporarily and waxed it and all...looks good.

my concern for you, and for myself is you havent used it long enough in each section. ive watched the videos and stuff and people say you got to work it in for like 4-5 minutes in each section. i have a white car and not the greatest lighting ever but my product is gone completely after about 1-2 minutes. to the pont where i dont even need to wipe it afterwards, its just gone. and im afraid the pad might gte dry and potentially just make things worse....i dont get it. also, white is apparently the hardest paint and black is the softest so white is harder to work on i think. plus its harder to see whats going on
 
Kelso, good point on the product going away. But when I sued ample product, it darn near ruined my pad. On the other hand, what I have been doing, the pads have not been caked at all afterwards like others epak of. Catch-22
 
well i hit some of my moldings and turned the pad black a few times. ended up using the pad cleaner like 3 times while i did my car haha. i love the XMT cleaner and conditioner, havent fallen in love with the polishes though. need to get used to them but i wasted so much using them the wrong way. i think ill prolly get poorboys next...

btw, the painters tape idea is now fully understood. hit the molding once and your pad has to be cleaned...
 
I think you mean a rotary and a PC will not remove deep scratche's but
i think you shouldn't have any problems removing swirls with PB's SSR 2.5 and an orange LC 7".5" pad..
