I am just sick and tired!!!

Why aren't you using a rotary on that paint system?

why would he need a rotary? I use a griot DA, yellow cutting pad and Poorboys SSR2.5 and remove swirls and scratches a bmw Black sapphire metallic. it's "all" in the technique...
but I do agree that m105 is meant to be used on rotary. I think it needs the heat, and the DA doesn't make enough

Use d300 or m101.
I've never heard of a compound NOT dusting. But I learned to use 105 enough not to "cake" on me

How long does it take you? Honestly.

I keep hearing that 105 needs heat. I don't see how unless 105 needs what heat is a by-product of ~ pressure and speed (opm's/rpm's).

I never said "need", as in "must have". I was just wondering, since rotaries are so moderately priced, and the fact that the OP self claimed the hardness factor, why not take an easier route, i.e. a RB.

I think I just confused myself...:)

This has been discussed at length. There are many ways to make M105 dust less. Spending 6 hours on he passenger side alone with compound tells me you need a different solution.

With hard cc if you're going to stick with a DA use MF pad and mix some D300 in with the M105. I like 105 but the newer Meg's compounds 100 &101 are better.

I agree with Vegas Transplant the rotary will make short work of it followed by a DA to finish it out. Hold the pad flat should be easy to control.

honestly for swirls and medium scratches only one try, deeper scratches with a 4" pad for another go. first spread with machine off, 1 section pass on speed 3, one section pass speed 5, 1 section pass speed 6 and one section pass speed 3 and no pressure. that did the tric...
