This is not my day!! I was just out to wash my car (no rain), I haven`t washed it in a couple days. After I had rinsed the car, guess what? Two scratches on my passanger door! I am SO ANGRY :mad: My new car and everything!! I can feel the scratch with my nail, so its pretty deep. Next weekend I am doing some wetsanding!! Oh yeah, the scratch is going away!!

Just had to get it out...thanks ;)

Since it's deep, would you use touch-up paint before wetsanding?
You're getting to use what you learned at that detail class. Unfortunately, it has to be on your car now. Post pics of the process of Scratch-B-Gone.
Not a good start to your weekend....sorry!

Its a bit deep, but not so wide, so I don`t know if touch-up paint is needed. But I will pick some up just to be safe. To bad its mine, but somebody need to be test bunny :p

I will take lots of pics etc ;)
 
Bummer! I know how you feel. I'll be interested to see you process to fix it. I'm to big of a wimp to try wet sanding!
 
I know how you feel. I've had my car 2 months, and there's about 10 of them from people banging it with their door.
 
What a scratch already :eek: man talk about a bad owner lol...just kidding pirex. I know how you feel, I'm sure all of us here can relate to the feeling. I too look forward on seeing what you do and how you do it my friend.

See I knew you were going to detail a vehicle lol...:D
 
Pirex I feel your pain! I just found two chips in the hood of my new car. I am having a pitty party in Ohio.

Take many pictures, step by step, and put them out. Because I too need to fix som schrates at my car and have never tried wetsanding! Perhaps I can pick up at trick or two :)
 
I will take pictures, and write a detailed writeup after I am done. I will do this next weekend, not this ;)

Somebody that have parked next to me, have made the scratch. I wish I knew who it was!!!!
 
Hey Pirex thanks for not blaming the wife! As well as, offering the detailed writeup. I have 2 chips I just found. I definately need step by step directions.

aw man :( I hate finding scratches out of nowhere..I'd rather have dings that can just be removed via paintless dent removal :D. Have fun with the wetsanding! I think you should touch it up before wetsanding, or better yet, touch up, then polish it so there won't be a blob and it will be nicely blended in :) well I don't really know if that works, but I'd wanna go the safer route.
 
Haven`t got my stuff yet, and it has been raining all weekend :( Let see next weekend!
