I am wondering how most detailers clean microfibers and wash mitts

natewood, I will wash with hot water after every use but will do this one warm since it hasnt been used like eldorado2k says. I dont have any detergent yet I was planning on buying towel kleen, so this wash will be without any soap.

Then dry with no heat then and let them air dry and hit them with the lint roller.

If it was me I'd add at least a dash of whatever liquid detergent you have on hand. And dry on low until they're just dry without leaving them in any longer than that. They come out nice and soft that way.
I think you may be overthinking it with the lint roller, but then again I don't use those same towels.

Do you guys wash your mf towels for ext wash awith tour gg terry drying cloth?

I bought a cheap used washing machine exclusively for microfibres.

Hello forum I wash all my towels by hand in the sink 3 separate fills and then in the washer. All my interior and cleaning towels go in the sink with dawn, oxyclean, and 2oz of micro-restore. I only use the microrestore on the first soak and the washer. I let them sit and agitate every now and then. Next I drain the water and rinse out each individual towel, fill back up with dawn and oxyclean 2 more times then off to the washer with micro-restore. I do this with wash mitts, drying towels, wax towels, window towels, etc. never mixing them. I was curious to see how other detailers clean their towels.

i just throw all mine in the washing machine on hot with a perfume free detergent and microfiber cleaner, using griots right now, then i dry on low heat, they come out great and its easy. i inspect them on the way out

ya it depends on whats in your washing machine, i use the lint roller sometimes if there's noticeable debris on there. one time there was shredder plastic in my machine from when i washed my hats and the hat rack got jammed. actually to be honest the lint roller doesnt even work that good on the microfibers

Not with Sonax BSD & PNS. Do this and say good bye to absorbancy. These German chemists don't mess around. lol

These two are some great stuff. I have a specific set of towels for them. Rags go into a soak bucket as soon as I'm done detailing.

im not familiar with those products? i use the waffle weave drying towels they work great i have the gold and the green ones

Sonax PNS & Sonax BSD.

Great stuff. Extremely hydrophobic; insane beading. Some learning curve with the products, but the results speak for themselves. At the very least, try BSD. Some (myself included) like to mix BSD 1:1 with V07 as straight product is a bit on the grabby side.

With crazy beading, it's also very stubborn to wash off if left to dry/set on the towels. This is why I have specific towels them, and those go into a soak bucket as soon as I'm done.

Maybe others don't but I do separate them from towels loaded up with wax/sealant. Same with glass. I feel doing so keeps the performance consistent overall.

Search cardaddy's process (maybe a few years back now). That's what I use to awesome effect. Basically I separate all my towels (paint, interior/glass, tire & ext trim) and wash separately. IPA wipe on the drum of the washing machine, delicate cycle on hot, I add a bucket of extra hot water to the tub, add an extra rinse. I use tide free and air tumble after I inspect every towel. When I'm doing any compounding I'll presoak, but usually not needed.
