I bought two coatings....what to use first?

Dilution ration is simple, just 5 or 6 parts water to 1 part apc. Not quite scrubbing your tires but stronger than just for interior use basically. You only need a small bucket or a partially filled bucket.

You're a gent! Thank you! By 5-6 parts water to 1 part apc, im guessing 1:6 lol (just making absolutellyyyyy sure :p). I use 1:4 for tires, and ive seen people using 1:10 for interior work.

1:6 is not too strong to damage the towels right?

Ouch! Man I'm glad I'm not too proud to use a new batch of Kirkland microfibers for that sort of task. [or any task for that matter] My inner cheapo would never allow me to throw away a $6 towel after just 1 use... But then again, I would never buy a $6 regular microfiber towel in the 1st place.lol.

Oh I feel you. I was planning on using my meguiars supreme shine towels for Coating wipe off but I have a total of 6....they used to be $5.25 on AG or max $6 but now they're $9 for a pack of 3.

I saw a video where Mike@DedicatedPerfection applying PBL v2, used the grey 530 gsm cobras on the short nap side and they looked nice. I got the 12 pack for 39.99 (-25% off) so ofcourse cheaper than $6 lol. This is not taking into account the $85 to ship it to UAE (along with Uber) :)

I'm just lost as you can tell.

Short nap grey to wipe of polish, supreme shine to wipe of coating....OR....The other way around, Polish supreme shine and coating 530gsm grey. Ugh

No 1 to 5 or 6 is fine. I use that dilution to give every towel I wash a soak before I wash no matter what's on it. From using it to remove ceramic wax to after a waterless/rinseless wash to removing cquartz uk. To be honest I just splash some in and toss em in, 5 to 6 parts water is just a rough number. I've never had a problem with the towels afterwards, still very soft and usable.

Thank you! I really appreciate it :)

For the towels with coating thing, I just put some water in a bucket and add some APC lol. Glug glug method has worked fine for me and my miracle towels(which I only use for leveling coating)

Thanks man! It does put me at ease that people do this and my towels won't go to waste.

To everyone: Once your towels are cleaned the APC way, and then the washer. What do you then use the towel for? Do you continue to use them for the task or do you demote them to grubby use?

When I used PBL V2 I had the towels soaking in APC, washed them and used them again for paint. They caused no issues. There was no crystallization felt with PBL unlike another coating that I have used.

As always, thank you Guz, you are extremely helpful.

I believe (and please correct me if I am wrong), I will not have issues with either coating as both are nano-ceramic resin based coatings.

I use it for the same purpose of leveling high spots when applying a coating

A quick follow up, with summer coming to an end, humidity has been insane the past week and is expected to continue the same way for at least another month.

I just did a rinseless wash and I was soaked more than the car lol.

How to either of these coatings play with humidity? Does it affect application, application area, flash time etc?

Any tips from you fellow geekers regarding application? I've seen so many write ups but never seen videos so I would like to comprehend as much as I can before diving in.

I wanna be at the top of my game next week as I am doing 3 cars back to back in an 8 day period. I'm far from fit so I have my work cut out for me.

TIA

I don't mean to thread jack, but since we are on the topic of PBL v2, would you need to use the PBL Cleansing Polish throughout the whole car again after using, say, Menzerna SF4000?

Yes that or some sort of prep products. The paint needs to be clean of polishing oils for the coating to bond to the paint for maximum performance and longevity.

It got lost above lol. But I would appreciate a reply to the above please :)

Carpro Eraser will not strip wax only polishing oils and glaze fillers, so as long as you've gone over your car with polish, it's fine to use that.

As for humidity, you you just decrease your panel size. As long as the paint is in shade and isn't burning your hand when you touch it, you should be fine.
