Its the highest honor you may receive at the scouting level. It stays with you the rest of your life, and is an excellent credential to have to put on work and college resumes alike.
 
I had a high school best friend who used it to get a recomendation from our state governor to get into Annapolis. You are very correct its an excellent credential. Thats awesome man. I wish I would have stuck with mine! Kick myself in the butt every time. haha
