is frustrating...even if u pay me double i will not do another one!
i know the infiniti paint is soft but easy to finish nice.
this paint on nissan gt-r is a pain! a big one....so soft and weird.

i did one step only SIP on meguiar`s polish pad and Flex DA , but with long run and slow movement ... took me forever plus when i try to use any final polish on a test spot i mess up the finish left behind by SIP ?!...i FAIL.
took me 2 hours and 3-5 combinations to fix the test spot where i try the 2nd step ( finish step)
i try : 205 , 3m ultrafina , prc , finish pad , polish pad , 3m blue pad , g110 , flex da lower speed , hi-speed , NOTHING! SIP was only thing that work at least to get it close to better finish.
anyway the car is better than before but still need some work.

Nice work. IME with 2 Gt-R's so far, they do not respond well to the flex, or rotary for some reason. I got better results when I switched to my GG 6". Did you try a DA, or just stick to the forced rotation?

Looking great! I know what you mean about sticky soft paint - un-finishable! But it looks like you got it. The sun pics look pretty damn good to me!

What did you use as protection? For cases like these I like to use something very easy to work with: WDGS - easiest to wipe off and probably the most streak/re-haze free of any sealant.

I did one about 6 months ago for my friends cousin! I had a very hard time finding anything that worked.....ended up with megs no2 and finished with no9.......I think that your does look just as good if not better! Nice work!

Nice save Cosmin...

So this is where it seems that enough similar car models are shown to have paint systems that simply don't polish out by the best of online detailers in the online detailing world, that "Car Manufactures" and "Paint Manufactures", would somehow hear our voices and take action to resolve the problems.

In this day and age it's hard to understand how any of the large paint manufactures can be so inept to actually create paint systems for use on mass production assembly lines that talented detailers struggle with to restore a show room new finish. If Professional Detailers struggle with specific paint systems what's that mean for the average Consumer?

Rant over with...

Nice work as always Cosmin, thank you for sharing with our forum community.

Looks good to me Cos. What you need is a good glaze in your arsenal :coolgleam:

Looks just fine. I'm sure the customer wouldn't be able to tell much of a difference if you took it a step farther

Gtr-'s r hard to work with Cosmin, they are supposed to have self correcting paint lol, yeah right, more like kick yourself for trying to correct it paint. Great work though man it's hard to get those results on that car!

Good job on the GT-R considering how bad the paint is. I know first hand as I own a GT-R and I have to agree that the paint is not good. I'm lucky that I have washed my car properly for the last two years of ownership and haven't had many swirls. I did use a Porter Cable DA on it a few months ago and found that WGTSR3.0, WGFG3.0, and then WGDGPS3.0 worked very well. I initially tried with the WG paintwork polish enhancer by DA and had terrible results; therefore, I had start over with the swirl remover. After it was all said and done I was very pleased with the results.

That looks great to me, nice job! I haven't had the misery of working with self correcting paint yet. I wish there were a list of all the cars that have it.

Is there something in the paint code that distinguishes the fact that a car has self correcting paint or not?
