I park usually way back in the parking lot. today, I didn't feel like it. So I park up front and walk back out and there is a BUGGY sitting next to the Camry. The lady just pulled out and drove away. I look, and there is another ding. I wanted to scream. Another time I was sitting in the school parking lot one day and was inside the car and someone opened the door and hit our car. I wanted to flip. Do people have no respect for anything, or what?

Hit the nail on the head, or at least it sure seems that way anymore.

I don't understand why you wouldn't protect your 2nd biggest investment. Ok, well I'm kinda done ranting, had to vent somewhere :)

5 years ago I used to work as a Pizza delivery boy and kept my car spotless even back then. As a delivery guy I refused to park in a parking spot so I parked in the Firezone all the time. The reason for this is because our pizzeria was next to a thrift store and a chiropractor. The people that would come into this parking lot were messed up and always opened their doors into other cars. This would make me so mad for the people who's cars damaged from this. I would wait and tell the people sometimes and one time a dude was like really!?! and kicked the side mirror clean off the car..... BOOM!. I was like  but it was so funny. The lady that did it was a repeat offender so she deserved it Im the MAN

Been there also. My wife say's don't worry about it. Turn it into your insurance company. I tell her that is not the point. People have no respect for other people's proper (car/truck). Someone paid big money for their investment. FYI. I get alot of exercise parking out in the boonies. It seems I have noticed alot of sharp cars, also parking there, with a car space between each. It's bad when you have to go to these extremes.

Even out in the boonies, early in the morning before any customers are even there yet there's always that jerk that even though there 1000 other parking spots parks right beside your car. When that happens and I'm still in my car, I punch it and move to the other side of the lot. Come back out and of course some other clown is parked beside my car.

I just bought a $1000 beater Honda Accord to help with insurance rates. (I have a 17 and 16 year old). It is great. I park it right in the mix of the ding zone. Doesnt matter. It is a nice change of pace since I am a mile away guy with all my other cars.

Also doubles as a nice practice vehicle. I have been learning to wetsand and use my rotary on it.

I feel like other people park next to you when you park out in the middle near no cars is because they use your car as a guide so they are lined up in a spot. That is what I think.

I actually just found a slight dent and ship on my car door. Assuming it was from a similar situation.

people don't care and have no respect for others property these days. if it's not theirs what does it matter to them? if i ever catch someone in the act doing this, i'm going to make a loud/big scene so they never forget it...

I remember I posted a pic of a shopping cart resting against the front of a Mercedes Benz. I was so pissed off for the person whose car it was and wanted to move the cart but I didn't want to move it at the wrong moment and the person be coming out of the store. It burned me up though.

:iagree:

Yeah, it's like moths to the flame. It happens to me all the time. I'm like why'd you have to park next to me? Go away and park next to somebody else, or better yet alone, away from other cars. People just don't get it.

I posted this in a thread i made sometime last year.

I went to petco and they have a small lot. So I parked in the very back where nobody was parked. Went inside and got what I needed and left. Right when I was walking out a 3rd gen Cadillac Seville in terrible condition painted no-gloss rattlecan black parked to my cars left CROOKED leaving about two feet between my door and theirs and about 1ft in the back. I could see giant poofy white hair sitting in the passenger seat.

I was thinking, "####, theres an old lady in there!" I hustled to my car, and instead of being polite and letting them get out first like I normally would. I got in my car and drove off really quick.

I cant believe out of all the available spots, there were loads of spots to my right and left, and out off all the cars, that piece of crap parked next to me uberly crooked with an old lady passenger.

I almost know for sure that that door would have gone flying into mine and grinded and pushed into mine while that old lady tries to get out.

That's gotta be the biggest virtue of a beater when you've got nice cars. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Even when I'm driving my hooptie (which almost doesn't happen anymore), I make sure I don't ding the neighboring car, even if it means shimmying out the smallest crack of the open door. It's not like I don't do the shimmy thing with my nice car, when it's necessary. I have no desire to ruin someone else's day.

All you guys with parking lot dings (or any other ding for that matter) should really find a good PDR (paintless dent removal) guy. The masters are miracle workers. A good one will make sure the reflection from the factory orange peel matches up!

Can those guys fix even the tiniest(sp?) ones? I have a few that are only visible when looking at the reflection at an angle and looking for the bend or ripple in the reflection.

I have one teeny tiny ding on a quarter panel that you can only see at a certain angle. The detailing place I stopped by for an estimate told me PDR would make it good as new, no problem.

I once caught someone letting there door touch the door of my truck. I stood behind them thinking what to do. I then calmly walked up to there door pushed it away from mine looked at my door, then looked at them. All they said was no harm no foul. So I leaned on there car watching them. They didn't like the fact I was leaning on there door and said, "please get off my car I don't want you to scratch it" I moved away from it and all I said was no harm no foul right? Lets say didn't go so well after that

Agreed! keep it going! Never finished my school parking lot story. So anyway the lady dings it and I step out. I'm like "lady, you hit my car?" she's like "you want me to?" there i was going to go absolute ape, but kept it back. Making a scene would not make it better.

pcw25, sadly thats what I did and not proud of it. The guy pushed me I pushed back. Then moved away thinking if he comes back I don't want to hit my truck. He came at me got me on the ground with my back to pavement and thankfully I was able to wrap my legs around his neck and choke him out. His wife called 911. Thankfully an old man saw it, vouched for me when police came and went my marry way. AGAIN, not proud of what I did and would never do it again
