I have heard some people say that this step is not necessary, but it sure is fun. I drove through some mud yesterday and I wanted the pressure washer and foam to work on it.

You drove through that mud on purpose, UD. Just admit it.....................

I had to venture off the beaten path yesterday myself. I had to travel 5 miles on gravel roads.

Woke up this morning to light snow on said dusty vehicle. Now I have to watch the forecast for warm temps.

I’ve got the exact same SJ SPX4000 PW. Absolutely love that machine.

I am loving that machine too LE. BJ Warehouse had a great deal and it turned out to be an anniversary present. I finally found an M22 x 15mm, 1/4" quick disconnect so I can easily connect the foam cannon.

Foam is fun but, you may soon find out that you'll grow tiresome of dragging out the PW and setting it up just for a regular wash. However, if you drive on muddy roads a lot then foaming can be very useful to pretreat the vehicle.

I never get tired. All these old guys can't keep up like they use too! So the foam can make them want to take a nap🤣. I'm kidding I'm kidding

True; setup is critical for continued use. Being somewhat lazy but enjoying foam, had to implement swivels, quick disconnects, easily-deployed hose/gun so it wouldn't become like a treadmill/exercise bike (i.e. a place to hang clothes) after the newness wore off. Went with the SunJoe SPX 3001 w/ hose reel to help facilitate which makes it easier but hose reel is kinda clunky so hoping the 3001 dies soon so can replace it with 3000, aftermarket hose and wall-mounted hose reel.

Use a shorty gun as well cuz me swinging around a full length gun w/ cannon on the end is a recipe for disaster

I love the foam and since my SUV seems to get swirls easily I like the touch less aspect of it.

Yup - I'm one of those Foam fools as well - Just spent 1.5x PW cost on MTM PF22 + Gun + Hose + Quick Connects & Swivels - essentially just to Foam my cars.... LOL:grouphug:

BUT - It sure is neat (I typically giggle at least once while playing with the Foam Cannon) and for me only takes an extra 15 min to setup - but I'm out there for at least an hour anyways....:poke::awesome:

Foam would be good for me because I live on dirt road,,,everytime it rains my car is a mess and being a Honda you can see EVERYWHERE the mitt goes,,even after I bought a nice Griots MF wash Mitt it doesnt help because I can't get enough of the dirt off before I wash it with the Mitt, even using a powerwasher,,this spring I think I will buy a foam gun

Since you have a power washer, why not get a foam cannon/foam lance instead of a foam gun? A foam gun will not get you the kind of foam that the OP is showing.
