Ok, guys..........i had a thread about my streaking issues..............so i clayed bar the car twice...........then threw on the wolfgang deep paint sealant........looked good, so i toped that off with mcguires ult wax.............looks pretty good, so today i threw on some of that 303 detailer spray............ yeah, i got nothing but streaks all over the place...........God i got to be doing something wrong...........i shouldnt have to put on detail spray and wipe the panel for god knows how long to prevent the streaks.,

Any one know of a spray was that i can apply and remove before my next SS checks arrives............. i shouldnt have to rub this stuff off for just guessing 20-30 swipes

Rich.

I can’t comment because out of those products I’ve only used the WDGPS. But I can say I would never layer so many products like that, I think that’s asking for trouble, especially mixing so many brands.

Strip it again. WDGPS and leave it. Every layer is a possibility for the failure to bond of the next product you apply.

Start with inspecting your towels. Are you sure they are contaminant free? Maybe a soak in some APC then a wash in the machine with a quality MF cleaner.

Next look at application process. Are you working on the shade? Are you only using a light spray? These newer detailers are very rich and do not require a lot of product. Perhaps try spraying on the towel rather than the panel itself.

Usually a quality MF dampened with just water
Used as a final wipe will remove all streaks.

Ok, are saying just have the polish on,...............dont throw anyting else on on.............the towels are clean, i hope..........i will buy new ones and see if that helps some...........im thinking my problem is more is better. lol..............will start from scratch again............im old and have nothing better to do. lol

I’m retired too, and several years ago I went through my detailing addiction where I was putting multiple coats of everything on the car and then suddenly I realized it was ridiculous. I suggest:
1. wash the car and polish it once a year with whatever you want
2. apply sealant every 6 to 8 months, unless you’re keeping it outside or in the sun.
After washing biweekly or so, use a topper every now and then, maybe every couple months.

And Then leave it alone and add another hobby!

lol.............very good advice...............will do

You need to include the new spray waxes & sealants in this, like you said, they are VERY RICH in active ingredients and a very little will go a very long way.

I ALWAYS use an applicator instead of spraying them on the panel, it gives you more control of how much you are applying.

I know that with all of the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions and Hybrid Solutions PRO products, they RECOMMEND a damp towel wipe off followed by a dry towel buff. I use a short nap "damp" towel (by damp, I mean get it wet and wring it out well-too wet is also not good) and for the final buff, I use a long nap (think "fluffy") microfiber. I bought some at a local Auto Parts store. They are very soft, thick and fluffy and were excellent for the final buff. I think they were called "Ultra Plush Finishing Towels" The ones I bought are very similar to these towels: 16x16 Everest 550 Ultra Plush Detailing Towel - White - 3 Pack and I ONLY use them for the final buff.

A lot of products streak on my black car, what I’ve found to work for me is using a slightly damp MF towel (water) then the detail spray…this is what works for me very well. Also use a separate MF towel to wipe excess after you apply to each panel.

Good luck

Hey, thanks Jayfro...........will do........also Don M, will pick up some of these towels, have to laugh about this spray on, spray off stuff, doesnt seem to work as advertised.............had the car for twenty some yrs now.........threw any trash on it as far as products go..........even a beer or two when it spilled on the car...........never a problem.............go to the higher dollar stuff, and nothing but issues. lol

Maybe sober up before you detail??:laughing::laughing::cheers:

But seriously great advice from the boys above. I would stay within the WG product line, Rich.

I may be wrong here, but I happen to think that more (newer) products made today do not play well with other product lines. The WGDGPS is certainly not a new product, but it could be that your toppers aren't liking it.

Also, just like Jim and Don stated, a little goes a LONG way with the new QD's, spray waxes, and other "toppers".

Good hearing from you Paul, yeah, im gonna order some more stuff, and just stick with one brand............just like my "Miller Lite" never lets me down, i switch to something else............yeah issues. lol

Every layer is a possibility for the failure to bond of the next product you apply...........Ok, redid the hood/top/trunk, the sides looked ok...........just used the WGDPS............came out great, question i had for you guys was i thought i read somewhere to top of the wolfgang sealant with a wax, then to remove dust use detail spray, seems this is where my issues started. Maybe im not wording this right, what im calling streaks seems like its a cloud look on the car...........So bascially leave the wolfgang on for the summer and dont mess with it anymore.

Im gonna order some of that spritz from wolfgang..........turned out pretty good, thanks for helping the old guy out.
