I'm running low on M105 and I'm looking to try something new. The 2 I'm looking at trying FG400 and M101. They are both almost double the price of M105, which is a little shocking but I'm getting a little fed up with how finicky the 105 can be.

I use a Flex DA and LC hybrid pads.

Pros and Cons of the 2 and any direct comparisons to M105 would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I may be slow, but I do poor work.

I would go with FG400 it's a great compound for 1steps. The real and only difference between FG400 are that 101 was designed for foam pads. Compared to 105 and 101 are pretty much the same cut and for Fg400 to 105 has a little less cut than 105.

Try the new uber compound from wolfgang. I previously used 105 and I also use blackfire src on some cars. After 15 years of using various meg compounds with rotary or the flex 3401 I simply don't have the patience or time for 105. Yes it works well but it is a pain the a$$. Yes there are things you can do to make it better but it will never be the fg400 or uber compound. You will be happy with either and will never go back. I realize it is more expensive but I found I used less product and I stocked up during the big wolfgang sale. I have half a 32oz left of 105 and have to force myself to use it. I do like the 205 though.

Good luck on your search.

Meg's UC is an awesome product and can usually be found locally, if your in a pinch. Meg's M101 is even more awesome but also more expensive but dusting is A LOT lower and finishes nice!

correct, Ultimate compound has a bit less cut than 105, but does not gunk up as fast

Go for some FG400 to run on the Flex and hybrids. This may end up being your new go to correction compound.

FG 400 has been my go-to compound as well, but I have been trying out WG Uber, and that just might be the new champ. Too bad I can't buy it at a huge discount like I can FG 400...

I'm using the FG400 right now and don't plan on purchasing anything else in the future unless a game changer comes out. It's great for one step corrections on light colored cars. I haven't tried WGUC but here's a quote by Nick comparing it to FG400.

There's no doubt that FG-400 was our benchmark, and I'm confident that anyone who uses the two side-by-side will declare the Wolfgang superior. :dblthumb2:

I checked the 128 oz. prices and WGUC is $50 higher than Menz FG400.

Love FG400, but the WG Uber seems comparable.

you could try HD Cutt. and after SEMA they have a product called ADAPT comming out that I am looking fwd to trying. UNO is pretty nice also. Speed is a AWESOME AIO.

I use 3M Perfect-It 3000 Rubbing Compound part # 39060 every day. It works. No dusting, fast cutting, minimal hazing, long working time. I have tried others, and keep coming back to this. You can use it with wool pads to polishing foam pads and everything in between. You will probably like it.

nothing beats 105. 100 and 101 are a good choice but 105 rocks. just stick with that.

My next compound to try will be HD Cut, no dusting and very easy to work with, I was told that it cuts very good and wipes off easy, price is also good.

One of the forum members told me how well it works for him, I read many reviews on it and almost all were great.

What is the difference between HD Cut and UNO? Is UNO a one-step polish? Also, how do the 3D products work for you on hard paint?
