Well look at that, I didn't even think about looking here. mmmmmm yeah it's not cheap. But I need somethink that is a wet vac too, for the dirty nasty wet boat carpet. If I am not mistaken those are regular vacuums, right.

Oops.. Lets stop this thread!! I can see where this might go. I didn't realize it was a product offered by AG. I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
Sorry!

your ok ... just no links. The Metro line does not suck water up to my knowledge. They are designed to vacuum and to blow warm air and can be used to help dry bikes and cars. They were originally designed for pets, or so I have been told.

Ok Thanks! I didn't want to start comparing products and get in trouble. I should have stated I need a wet vac.

Thanks Killr. The above being the case I can tell you that a very popular wet/dry is the Ridgid 5 HP. Either the 4 Gal. or 5 Gal. The hose is too short for detailing so make sure that you also get the "Detail" kit (11 foot hose w/attachments).

The 4gal 5hp Rigid is popular (I use one). I'd get the similar style 5gal 5.5hp (2512411)shop vac though. I have the 5.5hp motor in another vacuum and the power is noticeably higher. I think the Rigid is 9amp and the ShopVac 11amp. I love the Rigid for it's design and size. While powerful enough it's not as powerful as the other motors.

I got the Rigid 5hp with the detachable blower. kind of a 2 in 1 deal. I use the blower to dry the car.

I have the Ridgid 5HP/4gal wet/dry vac. Love it. And I bought the Detail kit to go with it (the one Jimmie described). On the box the Ridgid came in, it says Lifetime Warranty.

Ok thanks guys you have me pointed in the right directions. I hate going into the home improvement store looking for help! I have it narrowed down to a few, thats for the tip on the attachments!

...for what it's worth, Consumer Reports reviewed wet/dry vacs this year. The Rigids rated top in the mini size, 2nd in small, best buy in the medium, also rated 2nd in the large size. Craftsman rated top in small and large. If you're interested in the model numbers let me know.

Sure I will take all the help I can get - Thanks!:D

Here are the Consumer Report quick pics from March 2007 ....

Quick Picks
Best for most; fine for large or small cleaning jobs:
Craftsman 17762 $110, CR Best Buy
Ridgid Pro Utility Vac WD1850 $150
Ridgid WD1450 $100, CR Best Buy
All three models are competent choices. The Craftsman stands out for its high capacity for the price, the Ridgids for their ability to keep dust inside. Also consider the Ridgid WD1245 and Craftsman 17765 if you’re willing to give up some capacity and aren’t sensitive to dust.

If you prefer less bulk and weight:
Craftsman 17742 $60
Ridgid Stor-N-Go Cleaning Station WD5500 $100
Ridgid Pro Pack WD4550 $100
The low-priced Craftsman holds nearly as much as some larger and heftier models. Choose the wall-mounted Ridgid Stor-N-Go Cleaning Station WD5500 or stackable Ridgid Pro Pack WD4550 if you’re willing to trade capacity for compact storage.

Craftsman tools of any kind are hard to beat, at the right price, simply because of the lifetime warranty.

I could be wrong, but im pretty sure the craftsman "lifetime warrenty" only applys to hand tools, ive had plenty of stuff that craftsman wouldnt warrenty becuase it wasnt a hand tool. That being said, im sure they make a god shop vac at a decent price.

With alot of the other craftsman power tools and such, unfortunatley you get what you pay for.

I have a Ridgid 6.5 HP wet/dry vacuum, I had outstanding service for years. I been told Ridgid makes craftsman vac.... I have bought craftsman's replacement filters for it...

Great information! Thanks guys!
