Got a new 4 door Jeep Wrangler. Big sucker with a lot of surface area. Black.

Right now it is winter. I washed this week end at a bay where I sprayed the car myself.

I ran a squeegee over it. I have been told to get rid of it and I see why that makes sense. (Silicone by the way). Don't want scratches.

I can't take all day at the bay cause people are waiting so I have to take the car outside to dry.

I am thinking a cordless blower and then a high quality micro towel. Am I on the right track?

The big problem will be the roof. I need a stool to get up there as these things are tall !

So I bought a micro mitt with a handle for drying up there. Probably can get up there with a blower also using a stool I am thinking.

You are on the right track. Dumping the squeegee was the best choice. Look into a large dry-me a river towel and the cordless blower makes sense. I use the Metro Sidekick and the Dry me a river towels.

What about early morning? It may be too cold but maybe you can spend more time in that stall because of lack of people washing their cars?

At least you are on the right track!! I wish I could tell you more but I have no other ideas.

Does your coin op have a "spot free rinse" option. If so, make sure you use it. Also, get a really good LSP on that jeep asap. The trim too. I personally use a Metro side kick as well as DMC towels. Might want to add a waterless wash or some sort of drying aid to help against any possible water spotting.

DRY ME CRAZY TOWEL (the big one)

it's 27" long. hopefully you can do what i do with my Q5 and throw it on the roof so the end reaches the middle. then i grab and lightly pull the towel to me. it zaps all of the water like magic. then you can just lay the towel on everything horizontal and follow suit. dabbing the thing against the verticals will dry those panels.

Did all of the trim, inside, platics, rubbers with 303 Protectant already. That is some good stuff !

With regards to sealing - our temps right now are running 6 to 25 degrees. I don't have a heated garage. I have DP on the way but I don't think it is warm enough from what I have read on this forum.

With all the crap that gets on from the snow and salt I have been skeptical of waterless washes. I suppose I could to to the bay and wash and come home and wash again but what a pain.

Drying aid - had not considered that.

i use one of these - $10 from HD

i think it's about a foot or so but it's ample for stuff like a Tacoma, Frontier or my Q5 when i really need to hover. i'm 6'3" so it might not be enough for some people or overkill for those who are taller, but it's super handy. it also doubles well as a chair/stool for wheels and doing correction on lowers/vertical stuff.

it says 325 lb capacity - that's pretty conservative because i'm 345 lbs and it feels extremely robust and stable.

After washing, I mist the car with Meguiars quick detailer and use a Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy Towel to dry

I also have a JKU. I'm able to stand on the rear tire and reach most of the roof if I don't have a step stool with me. I use a Fireman's Friend chamois for the roof. I know I'm dating myself here but it works great on the jeep hardtop and allows me to use less towels.
