If you want to think about a coating, why not try PBL paint coating? Either with the yellow foam applicator, or (my preference) the suede cloth method (aka CarPro foam pad with the cloth wrapped around it). It goes on great, doesn't have any real problems with high-spotting, and has EXCELLENT looks, shine, depth, beading/sheeting, and so far durability FAR BEYOND anything even NEAR it's price point.
Next would be Megs M21 2.0 (with polycharger added), or Blackfire sealant, Wolfgang sealant, and of course Menz Power Lock. You can add polycharger to them all if I'm not mistaken. THAT is where it really cranks up the durability!:dblthumb2: )(
The polycharger dual-pack kit can be had for $35 and is a STEAL!!!!!!) It can be added to both solvent and water based products and really takes them to then next level.
Durability is easily 6~9 months no matter the weather conditions.
Next of course would be Blackfire or Wolfgang WOWA sealants (which I've not tried to polycharge but there formulation is different from the get-go, some saying they are polycharged from the factory, (which is what gives them the edge over the WOWO type sealants to begin with.

Not sure the durability is any better with these (if the first ones have been 'charged'). :dunno:
Next would be coatings with durability from 12 to 36 months.
The biggest problem with coatings is (at least imo) you want to put quite a bit more prep into them to justify the cost of the product if nothing else. Where with a sealant you can get it on the surface without endless hours spent trying to obtain that 'perfect' surface.
None of these however will last what you'd consider LONG unless you keep the vehicle up properly, do all the right wash techniques, 2bm (at the very least), air dry (rather than towel dry), use the right shampoo's so as not to strip any of your beloved sealant, and FINALLY use some sort of 'booster' from time to time. With a sealant, there are plenty of polymer sprays you can use after washing. With a coating there are various 'booster' sprays that bring them back to optimum performance.
For a DD that you like to spend time on from time to time just a man and his car (or in the case of this forum) also we'd have a woman and her car on a nice afternoon. It's only then that you really get to know your vehicle, and how well your chosen LSP is holding up.... and in those instances.... I like sealants. I like them because you can change them more often than a coating. Well let me explain that, you CAN change both, and as often as you like. BUUUUUT..... a coating costs you a LOT more to change out, hence you tend to try to get the most out of them and leave them on longer. With a sealant, say 45~60 days down the road you want to try something else, then fine, just do a light paint cleaner and put whatever new product you want on there.
Just throwing ideas out there.
