Hi all I would like to get your opinions on these 2 looks for my car. briefly I would like new black rims for my car but in reality I CANT afford them so ii decided to spray paint them with a product called plastidip (that can be removed if I don't like the look. The front is of course the painted 1 and the rear is stock silver the car is a gold metallic. all Ideas will be helpful thank you

Steve

Honestly I like the blacked out look better here and I think I would roll without the plastic covers.

Another option if you can swing it would be to buy just black alloy wheels that will accept your current tire size.

But if not clean up and dress the steelies.

After trying it out for looks and durability last year it is very OVER rated. Durability is terrible and any tire coating that gets on it softens it up almost deactivating it ; consider something else from my experience.

Thanks but I really calt afford 6-800 dollars, but you mean just apc the actual rim?

I plasti-dipped my IS300 wheels this year, and they are starting to peal off. Actually started early on, but I have just not taken the time to do them over. I actually thought of 1Z's German silver wheel kit from AG and seeing how my stock wheels turn out if I just paint them again.

HUMP

I say stay with stock too. Black wheels just don't do it for me. Too many people do it

I would stick with the stock rims.

If you really like the darker look, consider powder coating the rims. Much more durable. Most reputable places will powder coat rims for about $150 per rim.

OTOH, if those are plastic covers, then powder coating (I think) is not an option.

Thanks to all, it seems like most guys are saying to go with the silver.

I like stock the best. Black looks sorta like the car is on spare tires, Imo.

It sounds like you like the black. If it is something you like and want to do, go for it. I would worry less about others opinion and more about your own if you really want to do it. I plasti dipped the wheels on our tahoe between x-mas and new years. Some love it, some hate it but all that matters is I like it.
