They make stepdown transformers to solve this problem. Follow this link and I am sure they can fix you up for a reasonable price. They carry a model that will allow you to use something that consumes up to a 1000watts of power (for around $35), it is designed to step down 240V to 120V. This should work for you. Send them an email and I'm sure they can help. If you need some assistance send me a PM and I would be glad to help you out.

step down transformers are very poplular for US soldiers stationed in Germany (was there 2 years),and work very well. I used them for my heat gun to shine my boots.

Though, the new barracks have both 240 and 120 volt, so they are no longer necessary.

I believe the Cyclo has a counterpart offering too ...but power converters/transformers sound like a great option for using a specific power tool outside the country.

Sully, Do you have the Griots? Can you take the handle off. I usually use the Metabo rotary but keep a PC and a Cyclo around because I always use them too for specific applications. I like the feel of having my hand right on top. Maybe I would like the handle but how's your experience been.

Yes, you can remove the handle off all 3 of the 2nd generation polishers and use them sans handle which is my personal preference.

What is this you speak of? Feed back please

I'm not sure exactly what your question is but I'll take a guess?

Most electric power tools come with handles and some people prefer to use no handle at all and remove them. I fall into the no handle camp including using a rotary buffer.

I'll often times use a handle on a tool in a class to show the students the tool comes with a handle and how to hold the tool and use proper technique, but if I'm out in a garage somewhere working on my own car or someone else's car I'll remove the handle.

Personal preference.

Does that answer your question?

He's speaking of the handles on the Megs polisher and the Griots. The PC has a handle that you can screw into the
side if you want. I prefer to hold the head of the polisher in the palm of my hand, it gives me the control I want(even though you don't have to put much effort into controlling these polishers) and I just like the overall feel and it helps when applying pressure, at least for me. I just wanted to make sure the handle could be taken off the Griots and Megs ROB. Mike is simply saying that "yes, they do", you can hold the head of all these polishers in your hand rather than having the handle on it.

Sorry Mike, I received an email and didn't know you had answered the question already. I think that's what he was asking though. I guess before I place this order I should ask this. As far as the feel of the machine in your hand, which would you prefer, the Griots or the PC. They say the Griots has an improved head design that would enable you to get to more tight spots, but from the looks of it the PC looks made for no handle. I guess what I'm mainly asking is; are you going to feel like a part of the machine as much with the Griots as the PC. Keep in mind I've always been a rotary user with no handle(Dewalt and now a Metabo) and currently have the older version of the PC. I've had a Cyclo for 15 years and I never gave the PC a thought until I started reading the forums, and now I just love them. I just want to get the one that A. Feels the best, and B. Has the most power(i.e which one takes longer to bog down under pressure.)

Yes, Mike it does. In the previous post in bold I quoted "sans handle" from you. I wanted to know what that is/means?
