i want more glow and less reflection

hehe lauren to the rescue! why thank you :). but unfortunately nica is right about the paint. lol i hate honda paint!!!! its the devil. it is so ridiculously soft. i mean it is easy to polish, but you can throw a piece of cereal at the front bumper and it will chip. but i still love my honda :). you apparently like my honda as well...hmm wanna trade? ill take the vette. loool.
 
Cereal chipping paint? Now that's something different :p. What waxes do you have?

haha well maybe not that easily. but compared to the paint on my moms volvo there are a looot more chips. i used nxt wax. i havent tried any of the fancy boutique ones yet.
 
I have had three Hondas - and yours looks great.
If Honda made a car with like 400 hp, I would have it.
That vette has a clearcoat from hell, and my first rock chip in the front.
 
I would wanna try Natty's Blue. From looking at a lot of pictures with Natty's Blue as a topper, it looks really good, and it has a nice price.

I like Honda's too, I used to own a 2003 blue honda civic....yup blue...I love blue. I like Honda's, then I owned a 2005 Acura RSX Type S...guess what color...yup blue mmmm..blue. I wish I had the RSX I'm sure knowing what I know now about detailing I could make the RSX shine like crazy. I had to sell the RSX because I didn't have enough garage space :( had to make room for the Lexus :D

No Honda bashing inteded from my end, but yes I agree the paint on the Honda's are quite delicate, dosen't take much to chip the paint. But with Souveran, you will not be disapointed, it's really good...well worth the price in my opinion.

I know from reading a lot of posts in the past that glaze, sealant, wax don't work well as the oils from the glaze affect the sealant. But does sealant, glaze, wax work? Or is that redundant? Just trying to find a way to get a wet look but still get some sort of long term protection.

YOU CAN PUT GLAZE OVER SEALER...MATTER OF CHOICE.....BUT IT STILL WILL NOT BE VERY DURABLE AND WILL DISSIPATE AT THE FIRST WASH.....



Just trying to find a way to get a wet look but still get some sort of long term protection.

ok......so you can get the durability from the sealant and the wet look from the glaze plus wax combination......thanks!
 
It all depends on if the glaze will work with the sealant. I've never tried it, but I'm not sure it would work. The main intent of the glaze is to fill swirls/scratches, so unless you haven't gotten your finish looking nearly perfect I would skip it.

haha well i browsed through the pinnacle picture forum. that souveran just look so ridiculously appealing. but i drive this car daily from school and back so durability is more of a concern for me. but just wait... one day i will have that ferrari, and a closet full of souveran. but for now i want a good compromise between durability and appearance. so i am stuck between wolfgang deep gloss sealant and 4 star ultimate paint protection. it appears as if those are the two best sealants when it comes to appearance.
 
Two fine products, no doubt, but why don't you try a carnauba instead of a sealant?

I think that the durability vs. appearance question is well covered with Collinite 476 if you want a glowing look. Mothers Reflections has a nice glow too.

But I have to say that for the experiment's (and color range) sake you should try a hand applied pure carnauba, like say, Victoria Concours. It won't blow your wallet, and looks terrific.

Alternatively, you can try 2 coats of Meg's #26 paste as well.
 
Glaze -> Sealant -> Wax in that order unless you have an acrylic glaze like creme glaze which can go over a sealant.

I think your car looks great already. If you want glow try a glaze->sealant->carnauba combo.

One thing you have to remember about that picture of the ferrari though is that the car probably has been topped with a glaze just for the show. This is not practical in the real world as a glaze topper will vanish within hours. Another thing is that car is surrounded by
a lot of those small soft lights so that every curve of the car has a flare on it. There's no way that the car would look like that on the highway or even parked in a driveway.

If you do this make sure that the glaze is sealant friendly, such as Wolfgang.
