i want more glow and less reflection

Why sealant all the time???

some people sealant others carnauba , its a great world where choice allows one to pick from many groups.

As for glazes, I know many show car owners that only use glazes. No wax nor sealant. It is used as a showstopper and they realize is gone after first wash. They dont need any durability from the garaged mobiles.

That's pretty much obvious.

But the poster wants glow, not reflection. Yet everybody recommend him some sort of sealant, which are - due to their composition - more reflective than, say, pure carnauba waxes. Yes, some can mimic the optical qualities of a carnauba quite well, but still, that's not a carnauba.

He also wanted a healthy balance between glow vs. durability - that's why I ruled out glazes.

Oh...okay well you can't compare a Honda to a Ferrari buddy...the paint quality just isn't the same my friend...lol...

Nica, Ferrari has one of the most inconsistent, thin, sensitive, orange-peely aka crappy paints in the exotic car universe.

That really true? I don't know crap about exotics :p

wow i thought ferraris would have nice paint .well i mean im sure its better than the paint on a honda... i would hope lol.

Not, unfortunately not better.

Just a quick example:

This is a 612 Scaglietti

After you buy it, you want to wetsand it immediately to get rid of the horrible orange peel. But don't be surprised when you got 50-60 micron PTG readings... so nono wetsand...

(Sorry for the pic quality, but I had only my phone - a K750i - with me and it was not so bright out there...)

Hey Bence, I don't know if I agree with you about Ferrari's having crappy paints. I have a few friends of mine that have Ferrari's and I've used the paint gauge on there vehicles and the paint looks fine to me. No orange peal just perfect paint...but to be honest spending so much money on a vehicle you should expect perfect paint.

Thanks for sharing the info Bence, I'll have to keep this in mind when I decide to purchase my Ferrari..or Lambo...who knows...lol....for now it's just a dream car but you never know ;)

You're welcome Nica! :D

BTW, Ferrari's reds are a bit more consistent, as I could observe it, but the metallics are... I could cry.

Also, Ferrari is not the exception. During the press days in Geneva I was terrified how disgusting were the Brabus Mercs. All of them black, and generally awful.

Here is two pics of the new Brabus S600 T13:

The "reflection" is a Swift from the nearby Suzuki stand...

I agree with you completely, but have found like the Zaino crowd, some individuals just "have" to see sealant or synthetic in title before considering its use. What can you do

Hehe, I have the EXACT same car :p

I asked about products awhile back, and was recommended Wolfgang Deep Gloss sealant and then a coat of Collinite 845 (845 due to me living in a harsh winter city, for the protection).

I'm looking forward to the first summer detail, and will be sticking with the Wolfgang, as it looked spectacular, and probably go with the Souveran wax.

When did you get your FG2?

haha nice! another rallye red owner! the FG2 made its home in my garage March 4th 2006. haha sad that i know that. yeah i just placed an order for wolfgang deep gloss sealant and im going to top it with natty blue. i wanted to top it with souveran but the price is just a tad bit too high for a 19yr old college student lol. how do you like the car? definately the best color for the new civics in my opinion. if you catch it in certain light it almost glows orangish red. i even caught in on picture because i loved it so much.

I can see why you like the red color, that picture makes the red just POP!!

I'm not big on red colors but that red looks good. Post pictures when you recieve your products and let us see the vehicle when it's all dressed up.

You know, that is a very nice vehicle for a 19yr old and in colledge...I remember my beater...well my earlier beater..lol..

haha well this wasnt my first car. i came from a 94 sentra which im still dearly attached to lol. it wont start, it wont move, but i still will not get rid of it lol. my parents didnt feel safe letting me drive that car because there were like 0 safety features. so we agreed to go half and half on a new car.

and pictures will definately be up as soon as i get my goodies haha.

reflection == paint sealants or synthetics

depth, warmness, richness, glow == carnauba waxes

Not sad at all. I picked mine up on March 12th 2006 :D

Yeah it is a great color. To be honest, I really wanted the white, but for the '06 year, they didn't offer the Si in Canada in white. Had I known they were going to have it for '07, I would've waited. Yeah, the red->orange effect is really cool, i've gotten alot of comments about it on sunny days. This pic isn't in direct sunlight, just the flash of the digicam. I always show it to people to give them an idea of the color. Was taken right after I installed my Injen MR CAI:

You'll love the WGDG sealant. Looks spectacular on the color. Lasts awhile too.
