Good Evening to all!

I've been heavily considering diving into detailing as a side business., with the possibility of taking it further in the future. I've read the articles posted by Mike Phillips articles and I'm wondering if the members wouldn't mind lending a hand to the naming process.

My full name is: Kieran Walsh

1. kwalshdetailing and kwalshdetailing.com is available

2. walshdetailing but walshdetailing.com is taken


Going away from my name entirely, i thought of superiorshinedetailing which actually happens to have an open domain name.

So what do you think, and what are your suggestions.

Read up on branding a bit... I suspect you already started.

If YOU are going to be the brand (e.g. - Kieran Walsh --> Donald Trump), then personalize the company with yourself as a focus. If you want the entity to be the brand then go with superiorshine (e.g. --> Coke, Pepsi, AG, etc...)

SuperiorShineDetailing.com fits most of what I wrote about in my article on choosing a name for your business, it's a little long but most of the words are simple enough to meet the criteria,


1. Choose a name that tells your prospective customer what's in it for them.

2. Choose a name that's easy to spell, pronounce, remember, type and write.

3. Choose a name that can be registered as a Domain Name


Another option is to think of a very unique and memorable name for the business...

There's actually already a well know detailer that uses "superior shine"....so not sure what part of the country you're in, but that could be an issue.
 
He's located in California, as I'm in Jersey. But his specifically is Superior shine Mobil Auto Detailing and the address is superiorshine.com

Is their a wire up on best process in which to purchase a domain name as well as create a web page. (not nesseceraly how to, but best places to go so to speak).

I would recommend purchasing the domain name from the same place you plan on hosting the site from. Just keeps things simple. I've used just about everyone from GoDaddy to InMotion. Most of my domains are with GoDaddy.

Don't forget about "locational" branding. For example: "Your City Auto Detail. "cityautodetail.com" would be VERY easy to remember plus would yield DIRECT search traffic when people search for you on google/bing/yahoo. If you like where you live and don't plan on moving anytime soon this would be an easy way to go and guarantee instant online presence through search traffic.
 
Superior Shine Rocks but why would you name your company after somebody else. If your going through the trouble to brand yourself be unique. Also the California / New Jersey thing doesn't matter online. Do you want people looking for you as Superior Shine and finding my videos or anything else instead.

A few years ago I would get 2-5 emails a week from a people sending emails to a "Superior Shine" in New York. His email was info@superiorshinedetail<dot>com but lots of people left off the "detail" in his email address.
 
With the advise of the fellow members and a few of my family members, I have chosen KJW Detailing as my business name, as you can already tell from the changed user name here at autogeekonline.

This is the beginning of what I believe could be something great for me. I know that along the way, I will have many questions and will undoubtedly be extending those question to those of you with far greater experience than I.
