But, we're in a very upscale area and the "property managers" or whatever require you to be dressed up and professional. Though my office and even the other offices on my floor (from law firms to financial security firms) will wear jeans and a nice shirt on Fridays. I feel more comfortable that way.
I just had a closing down in FT Lauderdale for Gray and Robinson. I was basically the only one dressed up, realtor had baggies and polo shirt on (as well as my borrowers), closing agent had nice jeans and shirt on, and I even saw one guy in a full suit (jacket etc) wearing flip flops LOL.
Stupid dress codes. Personally I've even asked borrowers how they felt about that (flashiness and suited up etc) and it didn't matter whether they made little money or made 7 figures, they all felt that a broker suited up etc made them feel as if the person was trying to be "above" them if that makes any sense.
I don't know what it is, even though I look hot and sharp dressed up, heheFloridaNative said:If it's any consolation to you I used to work in the courthouse in Downtown Ft. Laud and I had to dress up every day to work too. So not everybody in Ft. Lauderdale is in flip flops. But I confess now that I am a stay-at-home mom, I spend most of my time bare foot.Old habits die hard.

. I'm just not comfortable, and I almost feel like it's showing off. I've done loans for CEO's and they would wear regular jeans and a white t-shirt in the office lol.
But with me, I really don't feel comfortable. There have been times where I've had to do loans for people I guess you could say barely made anything or lived in bad areas of Miami/FT Lauderdale etc, comming over in a suit, nice watch blah blah really made me feel weird. After even asking clients about how they feel about somebody all suited up compared to somebody more laxed in nice jeans and shirt (I'm not talking a wife-beater or anyting lol), and they would say that it made them feel uncomfortable as if that person was trying to be "above" them if that makes sense, and pretty much heard the same from people who even made 7 figs. It puts the picture in their head of a loan shark out to rape the client, makes me even think of all the "used-car salesman" types that really gave the real estate/mortgage industry a bad rep. Personally, I don't even wear my Breitling, I have a ESQ watch (Movado's other line) that is nothing fancy, just a gorgeous blue face and layout and constantly get complimented on it. Even asked how much it was etc, it didn't cost near what the B did lol. That never happened with the B as it seemed so flashy.killrwheels@autogeek said:Having worn suits and ties for more than 15 years, theres no simpathy for you all. In each field there are requirements and dress codes, just be glad you dont need to wear a uniform like when in private school.

Now go back to putting your suit on and finish the cam/head swap:cheers:, you need to intimidate your clients![]()
Oh I fully agree, just don't like that feeling I get sometimes. Oh well, just have to deal with it in the financial industry. BTW what company do you work for? And...when's the Vette gonna start intimidating clientskillrwheels@autogeek said:Remember that, your clients are seeing you for a mortgage which is one of the most significant purchases in life. You are a professional and you should be treated and respected as such. Dont ever feel that you need to dress down to appear normal or on a level playing field. You set the standard for yourself, not the other way around.
Look at little twinkle toes.Meghan said:We here at AG like to be casual, even Max is known on a Saturday to show up in Flips. Jason and I are more likely to wear them all week long! :awesome:
