I have been out of the detailing business for a few years, and want to get it started up again. I have my commercial van, my porter cable, rotary polisher, a few pads already, and basically want to know if you guys had $1000 to buy all the necessities excluding those named above what would you get to get things going for an all around detailing business. :buffing:

Exterior-
Interior-
Wheel-
Headlights-
Carpets-
Leather/cloth seats-
Windows-
Interior bad smells-
Any other?
Feed back please

Thanks!:xyxthumbs:

Exterior- Duragloss #901 or Optimum No Rinse for washes. Any clay bar and use ONR for lube. Meguiar's APC+ for wheels, wells, engine bays. Microfiber wash mitt.

Interior- Meguiar's APC+ for almost all surfaces and Poorboy's Natural Look Dressing for dashes.

Headlights- M105 and M105. Opti-Coat or paint sealant to seal the headlights.

Carpets- Folex or Meguiar's APC+ with either a carpet scrub brush or even a carpet brush used on the Porter Cable.

Leather/Cloth Seats- Meguiar's APC+. Leather can be conditioned with Optimum Leather Protectant.

Windows- Stoner's Invisible Glass or Meguiar's Glass Cleaner Concentrate.

Interior bad smells- Usually APC+(in my experience) freshens up the smell of the interior. But I know CarPro and DP have odor eliminators.

Tell me if I missed anything or if you have any questions about more products! :xyxthumbs:

Hope this helped

That should get you started.

Depending on what level of business your offering I would analyze what the costs of the products do to your pricing.

I'm pretty sure that's >$1000 total. . .

But I guess Corey just listed all of his favorite products!! :props:

Awesome!! Im the MAN

I'll add ARO for tires but I've seen a lot of people use my OPC for that too.

My buddy Jim recommends brown royal for tires. I plan to try some and see if it can take the tire job from ARO.

Ahhh ha! Some 303 HTFG for fabric tops...and fabric interiors (although you can use the Ultima interior guard for the carpets and fabrics).

HOWEVER, if your not in a rush there is a company coming out with a new fabric product soon that might take the 303htfg job for fabric tops.

Richy will tell you to get some zep citrus and zep purple. Good price for some powerful cleaners but use intelligently.

thats not enough... its $1400 for paul dalton's signature wax... and i have a "thing" for expensive waxes..

If it was one product then opti coat. 2-5 year of wax protect, with swirl resistance for just 60 bucks. Thats an marketing gold mine. you can charge 50 bucks or a 100 bucks and use 10-15ml of product.

I would also look at an extractor or steam power

I forgot to mention I already have a McCulloch steam cleaner

The best extractor that I could get for a grand.

Don't know which one since I haven't thought about it.

I'm not looking to spend it all in one item.Just the basics I need to start with.:props:
