If you were breaking into the Microfiber systems, what would you go with?

I recently purchased a Cadillac CTS in Redline red. It is going to need a good bit of correction and I'm less than excited about busting out the M105. I figure this might be a good opportunity to pick up something a little more user friendly.

I have had it suggested that I should look into a MF system. The Meg's system looks great but the D301 has had some marginal reviews.

If I make the move to some MF pads/polish, is there a go to combination or other products I should consider?

I've used the MF system as it was designed, with both 300 & 301; no complaints from me about the results.
 
I would suggest using D300 follow up with Ultimate Polish for clarity and top it with Colonite 845 or your favorite wax. Worked great on Black Caddy for me.
 
I've read about some great result with the Meg's MF system. I mainly wonder if I might be better served with some combination of the Meg's MF pads with another brand of compound/polish.

Mark, I was thinking that I was going to finish off with BFWD, but I think I'm going to go with the 845 to take on daily driving duties. I love the 845s durability.

I also used Megs Ultimate liquid wax and it's great, but you must do 2 coats to get rid of any blotching as I found out. Waiting for my BFWD next wk to do some comparison on Black car. 845 is one of the best products for the money, ease of use and longevity IMO.
 
Megs MF System gets my vote, but I chose not to get the finishing wax and use 205 and then Collonite or Duragloss as lsp.
 
I give the megs mf system the big thumbs up.. You will be happy..
 
The MF pads work wonders with the D300 compound. I add a polishing phase with Optimum Polish II and an orange or lighter foam pad. I like optimum polishes because they are easy to strip off when washing (I do a second prep wash). Once the paint is nice and clean I seal with BFWD. As a mobile detailer my customers like to add a final LSP once the sealant cures (or apply on the next wash), usually its pinnacle souveran.

Btw I would keep an eye out on the upcoming Optimum MF pads.

I have not seen any advantage to do a 2nd prep wash even on Black paint.Just my opinion.

I guess its just a preference, I do it for peace of mind and to remove any oils, dust, or polish that might of gotten stuck somewhere.

That brings up a good point that I picked up on when doing more reading on the MF pads. It seems that there is the most value in the MF system with the MF cutting pads. I've seen a few details where the correction is done with the d300/MF pad which is followed up with polish on a foam pad.

I think I have my mind set on the Meg's MF cutting pads. Should I pair the pads with the D300 or is there another compound that I should look into?
 
If you follow the yellow brick road directions on the megs system you will get back to kannnsass..
 
the mf system works great but sometimes it doesnt even budge some swirls. remember theres alot of variables when it comes to corrections. therefore you should have a wide variety of products and pads to knock out any problem you encounter! hope that helps. By the way, m105 and the mf cutting disc works good.
 
D300/301 have worked very well together for me. I have not used it on Cadillac paint. The poor reviews are mostly from people who dont like the idea of the wax being combined with the finishing polish.

I would give it a try as is. The 301 will clean up the hazing from the 300 nicely. It will leave a good coat of wax on your car for 3-5 months. After that, you can choose to top it with whatver you want.
 
I ended up going with the Megs MF cutting discs in 5" and 3". I got the D300 to match but skipped on the d301 and finishing discs. I also picked up some DG 501 for my less intensive details. Hopefully this will work well with my m105/205 and the rest of the aresenal. I've got a lot of products and about every pad under the sun, but I'm always cautious to buy more as I'm not a pro and I'm worried about shelf lives.

I REALLY wanted to pick up the Menzerna Power Finish but decided to pass this time.
