IK Foamer for rinsing?

So....I keep reading about these DI water systems and how expensive the media is to replace, not to mention the cost of the units themselves. I've seen guys use the newer IK foamers, the ones you pressurize with a compressor, to foam a vehicle instead of using a pressure washer/foam cannon......and I got to thinking. What if you used one of these IK foamers and used distilled water in them for just rinsing off your vehicle? Does it seem like they could handle the job?

My other option would be one of those battery powered (i.e. Ryobi) pressure washers with a hose suspended in a bucket full of distilled water.

Any thoughts on either of these methods?

Option 2 would work, option 1 you’d use the sprayer instead of foamer but the pressure is too low to rinse, you’d need to refill the sprayer multiple times to rinse with high volume due to low pressure.

Agreed.

You'd be quickly disappointed using a pump sprayer to rinse.

Backpack sprayer. Some have enough pressure to reach up in to trees, so should be enough for a final car rinse. A la the "spot free" final rinse at the car wash.

But how many gals of distilled water would you need to do a final rinse on a vehicle ? And not only would the cost add up, so would the weight at 8#/gal. Then again, 4 gal or so is the limit of sprayers, so maybe 33-34# total when full. Surely you would also have to "reload" at least once too.

I have a nice Milwaukee 4gal battery electric backpack sprayer.

Will it work to rinse a car? Perhaps.

Would I be filling that thing up, strapping it on my back, and rinsing off the car? No way.
