I actually dont think I've bought anything 'substantial' in 2019, the cupboard is somewhat bare. Still a PA Cosmic kit in there but that's about it for coatings.
Still have a few things at work I gotta clear out and bring home, mostly some new polishes/compounds that I gave a try.
As someone mentioned, very few 'game changers' come along. HD One is OK, but not life altering, Megs 210 was OK but nothing monumental vs 205, CarPro ClearCut may be a keeper but can usually get same results with another liquid, albeit with a few more passes.
Beadmaker was good for a little entertainment and even early on I'm pretty sure Mothers CMX wont hold a candle to CanCoat so nothing substantial there.
The Kamikaze wool pad is a keeper but the compounds/polishes seem to be definite 'boutique' items, too pricey for frequent use and maybe too focused towards softer paints.
The Zipang coating looks like a winner *for me*, not so much because of the limited self healing alone but that aspect along with increased claimed longevity will probably allow me to extend my daily out another year w respect to re-do's and my wifes winter car will likely extend out another 2 years with it...which makes the added $$ if it worth it.
Lord knows my CC statements have been looking better lately. I remember adding up all my 'known' purchases at the end of 2017 and, well...let's just say I didnt do that again at the end of 2018.
Seems like a lot of 'new & revolutionary' stuff is incremental changes in most cases...but not all; and it's that last bit 'not all' that will likely keep me chasing Unicorns...but maybe at a slower rate. Hopefully.
Still have a coating or 2 I'm interested in, maybe try when weather warms up in a month or 2 but that's about it.
Getting kinda lonely on some of those shelves:
