Impressive Headlight's

I had a headlight correction tonight and had to breakout the sandpaper.
Here's what the headlight's looked light before correction:

This was after using 800 grit and a electric drill (1500 RPM's):

This is after wiping down after using the 3000 grit,wet sand (1500 RPM's):

and then the finished light's after some rubbing compound and a orange pad (1500 RPM's):

When I was finished,I sealed them up with some GTechniq.They should stay clean for a long time.
Needless to say but it was a quick $50 for about an hour of work.

Tomorrow I have another headlight restore for a customer but this one will be very severe.

Round II tomorrow (with pic's):).
 
I too wondered more and more about what to use to protect the work done on headlamps. I know dealers are now reclearcoating them after this. Opti-coat and other coatings might be a great solution too !
