Improving all your spray bottles

You can get the latex tubing from lowes by the foot or a surgical/medical supply store.

The regular flexible tubing is not flexible enough. Trust me.

DIY is fun....but,

For $1.59 you can buy one that sprays at any angle AND upside down

New Upside-Down Trigger Sprayer! This innovative trigger sprayer works any any angle. No more frustrating "air pulls" because you need to spray at an angle or upside down. This trigger sprayer will quickly become your favorite and most helpful tool when dispensing tire dressing, all purpose cleaner & glass cleaner. Eliminating frequent bottle refills means more time. More time = more money and a happy detailer.

It works by utilizing a secondary ball bearing float valve, located just under the trigger sprayer neck. When the fluid is on the bottom the primary valve on the bottom pulls the liquid product. When the bottle is turned upside-down, the secondary valve at the top takes over and keeps the product dispensing until the bottle is completely empty. The ball bearing moves to open and close the secondary valve with the gravity of the angle of your bottle.

The trigger also features a comfortable 4-finger handle for a full grip pull and greater hand control. Spray nozzle adjusts to a fine mist spray pattern - excellent for misting tires and windows at an angle.

Maybe u could coat the nuts n bolts with a plasti dip that is used for dish washer racks when they rust. After all, thats what it was made to recover when it fails.

I'm sure anything would work that isn't going to have an adverse reaction to the chemical in the spray bottle. The key is the flexiblity of the suction tube. You need a latex. PVC or Vinyl will not suffice. This video uses additional weight to compensate for the lack of flexibility in the tube. It will be easier to get the latex by the foot and use less (possibly corrosive) weight.

Or you could buy one of these $1.59 to $20 premade editions. I hear you guys talking about the ones less than $3. You're obviously not factoring in how much it is to ship a $3 spray bottle... plus, tossing out your perfectly good $3 spray bottle. And, Allen, you're correct, DIY is fun. That's why we're here. This is a forum for folks who like to do it themselves.

Metals and liquids.......yeah I think I will sleep on this method

I mentioned a glass bead and a brass hose barb. You'll be find. Plus, lots of spray bottles have a tiny bob inside to control the spray flow.

Screw Iphone and it's ridiculous auto correct.

I meant to say "I mentioned a glass bead and a brass hose barb. You'll be fine. Plus, lots of spray bottles have a tiny BB inside to control the spray flow.

I modified a few bottles so far and it works well. In a few of them I removed the plastic straw completelly and plugged the tube directly in. In some none of the tubes I purchased would fit exactly the hole so I did the mod like described in the video.

What tubing did you use

Just plastic tubing I purchased at Home Depot. I got 3 sizes of it so that I could fit any bottle. Fitting the stainless steel nuts it the most complicated aspect. Pretty hard to find nuts that will fit the tubing perfectly.

So what I did is I found nuts that fitted the largest tube I had, and I use electric tape to make it fit on the smaller tubes.

In terms of efficiency, the smaller tubes are better. The large one is pretty stiff and it needs a little help to move around in the bottle even with the weights on it. The small one moves easilly when the weights are attached.

I'd suggest using a "clunk" and silicon fuel line used for R/C heli applications. Prior to recently getting back to my car addiction I spend several years flying Nitro R/C Helicopters. Clunks are used in the fuel tank to pickup fuel at any angle (see video at the bottom of this post :righton: )
