I've been doing a little resarch on buffers and pads and could use some suggestions. As you know I have only one good arm so I'm in the market for a DA that's lightwieght and durable. So far the Flex looks to be the lightest at about 5lbs but the pads are really what's confusing me. When I used to detail dinosaurs I would use mainly wool and short-haired pads but I see that times have changed. I have two questions: would the flex be the best choice and what kind of pads would I use? My truck is a 2010 and I have been babying(sp) it. I do have some friends at work that don't take care of their vehicles that have been asking about detailing their rides( I work for beer) just not when I'm detailing.:dblthumb2:. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Feed back please

He is saying, in his opinion, that combination is your best bet.

Flex DA for sure !

Pad to be used with the Flex DA in my opinion are Lake County CCS or Lake County Flat Pads ( more people seem to like the flat pads better than the CCS).

Good luck !

Flex with Menzerna SIP and 085rd ... Hydrotech pads appear icing on this cake !

I'll join the choir and sing the praises of the Flex and hydro tech pads!

The flex is a great machine but it is a handful if you only have one good arm. The other DAs would be much easier to control.

Dubbin I was worried about weight but I should have considered torque as well. Please keep the suggestions coming folks I need all the help I can get. The porter is a little heavier but if the torque is less then it may be an alternative. Please help.Feed back please

Scott I just want to be clear that its next to imposable to use the Flex with one hand. I would hate to see you pay that kind of money only to not be able to use it. Plus with one of the other DAs you can use smaller pads then what can be used on the Flex.

Makes me think people didn't really read his post ;)

I read it completely, but I failed to consider the differences in the way the two machines are used when it comes to having to use it with one arm/hand.

I know that I would definitely have an easier time using a PC than my Flex with one hand.
